I think there are other cabins like the one Sasha and Maggie are in.

Maggie was offered a room in the mansion though so it's not totally full.

It's like Downton Abbey, Gregory has the Library and the Ballroom, everyone else is in the servant's quarters in the attic.

i love these quieter episodes. you can't have drama every single week (as countless people have pointed out). i've always liked sasha and i'm glad we've spent more time with her and maggie and enid. jesus is a great character.

Not that it matters, but I read it as he hid them until he was pressed, then gave them up - thus showing he was a weak snake in the grass. Jesus knew its high probability of playing out like that so moved them to Gregory's bedroom.

Pre-meditated or not it gets to the same place. Gregory = untrustworthy.

And also rather stupid if he thought this would leave him in the clear.

He's just denied all knowledge of the attack on Negan's outpost and then produces 2 people involved in it who he had hidden.

Why would he have hidden them if he knew nothing of the attack?

I can't believe we're already nearly halfway through the season and nothing has happened yet.

Not entirely true

We saw the payback from negan and crew from the season finale
We've been introduced to The Kingdom, Ezekial etc
We've seen the Saviours set up, how things work there, Daryls & Dwights situation
We've seen Negan and Crew visit Alexandria, giving an indication what they do to each community
We've seen the Hilltop and how Maggie & Sasha are doing there
Next week I assume we catch up with Tara as well as follow Rick/Aaron in pursuit of Carl/Enid??

Not long has passed in the timescale between all the places

The timescale is now a bit of a mess, because with Negan, Alexandria & Hilltop we are still only a day or two after the beginning of the season, but over at the Kingdom with Morgan and Carol we are a month or two later.

What I find funny is he must have said to Trevor "I ave *something* in the cupboard to show you..." and Trevor never asked what it was before he opened the cupboard.

It wasn't quite like that. Simon (I don't know him well enough to call him Trevor ) asked Gregory if there was anything he wanted to tell him. Gregory started looking un-comfortable, so Simon said 'Gregory?', as in leading him on to come clean. Next thing we know, they're both in front of the cupboard. Although, now that you mention it, what is odd is why Gregory should have looked so nervous and shifty, when - from Simon's p.o.v. - all he was doing was giving them a pretty great gift. Why be nervous about that? (Although no doubt the sight of the whisky made Simon forget it.)

You might further wonder why, seeing as they presumably searched the whole house, they didn't find Maggie and Sasha in the bedroom cupboard. That's some pretty sloppy searching right there, but I'm sure the writers would rather we didn't dwell on that.

What I found odd was no one back at Alexandria has made a single comment about the whereabouts of Carol and Morgan! Surely they would have wondered where they were by now?

Rick left Morgan to follow Carol's trail and thereafter Team Family don't seem to have noticed they haven't come back

all filler tho

Seriously wonder why people carry on watching shows they dont enjoy, I've said it loads of times in these threads, dont like the show and the direction its going? dont watch, simple. "ive invested too much time to give up on it now" boo hoo., youve watched hours and hours of something that gave some enjoyment to you at some point no one owes you anything else for it.

It really comes across that some people are watching purely because its a famous show, theres no vested interest just keeping up with the Joneses.

According to some press reports, that's what's happening. Viewing figures have fallen alarmingly since the premiere. I can see why. Episode One was a step too far. I will never rewatch that episode, it was sickening...literally. I'm still watching as I still enjoy the show but they went too far and for those still watching the long winded character centric episodes are becoming frustrating for viewers who want to see some actual reaction to the events in the premiere, namely what will the protagonists do about it.

Yes I get the need to showcase the effects of Negan's barbarity on the group but really....Daryl's episode could have been covered in ten minutes, the Kingdom was also full of fluff that could have been condensed and the same can be said of the Hilltop episode. Now we have yet another all about Tara. Yawn!! Get on with it! Everything that's taken four episodes could have been done in one. Scenes like Michonne proving she's a lousy shot,...pointless. Carl and Enid forever talking/flirting...on and on it goes.... Simon's interminably long visit to Hilltop, with him endlessly posturing and leering a la Negan...unnecessary. ...I could go on....

People get disengaged. It adds up to several hours of very little to progress the story.

thats totally inaccurate and a bit ridiculous really. Fans of the show are finding fault and voicing their opinion about this, don't expect everyone to think it is perfect? I am betting most people here are real fans of the series rather than tagging along because it is popular, I know I am. it might be annoying people going on about it but there are a lot of dissatisfied fans and the producers have failed to keep the tempo up. they are doing some things right but not enough. there was enough slow stuff last season, i was personally hoping with the Negan stuff it would pick up, how much more character development do you need?

if viewing figures have dipped then its because the show has become a bit too grim and negans gang are just horrible to watch as they make people suffer.

I agree that the first episode put some people off, I was surprised at how many people I know that stopped watching, not cause of the gore but the depressing tone, they had enough. Personally I thought it was a bit of a gimmick, I think they did a good job showing how brutal Negan is but they took it a little far in terms of not freaking the whole audience out. In a way it was a brave move, but personally I think it would have been braver as the last season finale, when the tension was ramped up. Doing it now feels like a ratings device at the expense of the storyline.

I think I'm going to stop watching now - and just tune in here to see what folk are saying (the talk on here is far more interesting than what has been going on in the show lately). Monday's episode was dreadful - just dreadful. Calling it filler is doing it a compliment.

I have watched every episode since series 1 (the very best). I really enjoyed the soap element mixed in with the zombie stuff. Series 2 was OK too - but since then I find I'm watching in the hope it will get back to that excellence (or even near it would be welcome). It doesn't though. I know there will be people saying the slower episodes are 'character development' - but sometimes they are just slow - and nothing more. Not just slow - but with no result at the end.

Having said all of that - I'll probably watch next Monday's. The most enjoyment I get out of it at the moment though is chatting to friends at work the next day where we are mixed - half think it is dreadful and the other half still love it - we could actually make a drama out of it!

Yeah I do wonder how they will play that

I think you will find I was actually saying I don't totally mind the way these episodes are going and I don't agree these episodes have just been filler, if yiou do maybe you should stop watching??

I love this show and it would take a lot for me to stop watching. too many people throwing their toys out of the pram on here

See my earlier post about timescale. To Rick, it still only 24-48 hours after the Negan massacre, and they've got plenty of other things to think about.

I think that The Kingdom are very lucky that the Saviours haven't come in and taken half of everything by force. They must have cut one hell of a deal when they first bumped into them.

The other two have been obsequious, so they get a genuine 50:50 deal. Because Rick has killed so many of Negan's men, they take what they get.

Well, we don't actually know that they haven't; we just haven't seen it. It could be something we're just supposed to take as read that Negan/ the Saviours do either when they 'acquire' a new settlement, or when a new group of Saviours take over an existing settlement.

ETA - although having said that, you'd think they'd have taken the tiger at some point. I mean, it's a feckin' tiger ! The animal of choice for any wannbe dictator. Negan would love it ! Maybe Lucille got jealous.

Ezekiel has said that he's keeping his dealings with Negan secret from most of his people which suggests there was never a big search/take 50% of the Kingdom as there was of Alexandria and the Hilltop.
