Or the first room they searched was the one with the tiger in it, and so they didn't bother doing the rest.

"Hey, Ezekiel, what did you do before the Apocalypse?"
"Oh, I was keeper of big cats at Atlanta Zoo"
"Wow, err.....ummmm....great, thanks for all the courgettes."

Ah yes, so he did. Thanks.

In that timescale Negan's been told that Maggie has died and been buried but she's managed to walk and recover at the Hilltop . Carl and Enid have walked to the Hilltop in what seems to be a couple of hours , it's very confusing

I agree, I haven't even been able to force myself to watch this latest episode.

Me neither. I have only watched bits and pieces of the last two. There are many shows I quit watching after three or four episodes because they were not for me (Homeland, Lost, Game of Thrones, Westworld, Damian, Outcast, American horror story, Breaking Bad, Scream Queens).

But I have never experienced that a show I have watched for many series suddenly become...not boring.. but something other than it was.

For example, Lost, I thought was about survival after a plane crash. When I realised it was about supernatural stuff, I quit, because it was soemthing other than I expected.

With Walking Dead, the show has been excellent for years. I also loved the farm and the prison. There were some dull episodes (Beth in the woods..) but they were a one off.

Now, there are too many people doing uninteresting things, and my interest is fading. I hope it will go back to being about survival and not so much about dealing with the endless stream of bad people.

I find this a bit difficult to understand. This show has always been featured on character development and light on action for action's sake. It is not about what people do, it about why they do it.

So this series we have new interesting characters in Negan and Ezekiel, we have Rick's descent into subservience, Maggie transitioning into a hard-ass, continuing Carol's story, Daryl resisting Negan and his relationship with Dwight etc etc. There's plenty going on.

For me, Negan and the Saviours have given this show a kick up the derriere that was long overdue.

Survival in this world seems to be all about dealing with the bad people without being bad yourself.

No one stops you from creating a Walking Dead appreciation thread.

In your post, you take it at gospel that Ezekiel, Daryl resisting Negan, or Maggie's new story are interesting. I dont think they are. At least I understand that many think different than I do.

Then again, i always find that if you look up spoilers, the show is never as intersting, just saying

Again, I think differently.
I need spoilers in order to stay sane when I watch. My daughter had no idea who died, and was terrified when she watched the Lucille scenes. Whereas I could breath a bit in between

So lost out on that tension, in my opinion anyway, especially for the 2nd one, I really don't know how knowing this information can make the show any good, each to their own, but to me, it would spoil the enjoyment, and especially the tension.

Yup, each to their own. This world is filled with millions of wonderful people with different opinions on beauty, food, tv shows, home decoration, sports, art, litterature and shoes.

I think this year may be the year i bow out of this programe.
My missus bowed out the other year with the cannibal stuff, she said it was getting too sick, and less and less to do with the zombies, and more to do with horrible people.

By the end of last year i was getting the same feeling, now a few episodes into this year, i think she was right.

I enjoyed seeing a group of likable characters fighting the zombies and trying to find a place or day where the zombies didnt exist, but its just getting tone so much, far too depressing, and simply not fun to watch.

It really hasn't, it's been a good show...but out of a season only a handful of episodes have ever been excellent, the rest are either at best good or filler.

It's one of those shows that would be far better if they left it at 6-8 episodes a season, 16 is just too many.

its never been about zombies its always been about people.

it seems to me people want the show to be simpler than it is..?

My main issue with the show is the amount of drawn out scenes that serve little purpose to the overall plot. With such a large cast I would rather they focused on character interaction and character development. They have so many characters on the show that have no personality and fail to hold my attention as I have no interest in them. When you find yourself rooting for the villain then you know the show is failing, the protagonist can have flaws but still be the character that viewers want to see succeed, however Rick now has far too many irredeemable qualities and I want to see Negan take him out. I have no interest in the initial group of survivors anymore.

I think people want less filler rather than a simpler show, far too many times you can skip episodes and not have missed anything.

Lol, the people bitching about Walking Dead should check out Fear the Walking Dead as a reality check. How I managed two seasons/series I'll never know.

(Just kidding folks, no need to go grab your barbed wire covered baseball bats just yet. )

Anyways, really enjoyed this weeks episode. It had Jesus, Maggie, Sasha and zombie action! Yeah, I'm still annoyed with the Negan's just being constant dicks but at least Steven Ogg injected some humor into it. It was definitely preferable to the ninety minute Negan monologue from last week. Think I might check the preview for the next episode, I'm curious to know where this is all leading to.

I agree with you as to the drawn out scenes which don't serve much purpose, although they develop characters plenty enough for me.

Interesting that you feel that way about Rick because for me Rick is the pivotal character and without him, I feel the show would dive bomb. I dont see irredeemable qualities in him, I see someone who is arguably the most believable character in the show. Perhaps that is due to Andrew Lincoln's talent but personally I find it extremely easy to see how Rick while fundamentally a decent man, has suffered more than most people could cope with while shouldering responsibility that being the group's leader brings and the breakdown of some of his principles and his reactions simply suggest PTSD to me.

Yet he still endures and his internal battles are evident. Testament to the writing and the skill of the actor I think.

I'm with this guy, he should be winning Emmys, no question.

I'm a huge Game of Thrones fan and I take nothing away from Peter Dinklage or Lena Headey for their nominations/wins which they deserve, they are great actors but Andrew Lincoln outshines them ....imho of course

Perhaps impatience for some fightback is all I'm really guilty of Damn Negan!! He took out two characters I always enjoyed watching. I still can't believe I'm going to get no more Eugene/Abraham dialogue. What a bummer!

Yeah, I feel like some payback is badly needed.

Weirdly, I had a good feeling about who was gonna be Lucille'd so I wasn't affected in the way I thought I should be (at the time). But now? Now I keep wondering where Glenn and Abraham are before remembering they're gone and it makes me kinda sad.

But yeah, certainly not complaining about anyone who isn't feeling the current run. Not everyone will like everything, and that's just fine.

Haha I think it was just my love of TWD that got me through
