Well, mid season finale is in less than 2 weeks, i presume that would be it.

Yeah, Heath and Tara were on the road for two weeks, and they set out the day after the attack on the Satellite station which was just a couple of days before the Negan massacre. But to get back to Alexandria Tara has had to walk about 200 miles from the Virginia coast to suburban Washington, so that's another week to 10 days, so she is on about the same timeline as Carol & Morgan, ie about one month after the massacre, whereas Rick, Carl, Jesus etc are still only a week max past the massacre.

I must admit that was my first thought.

I quite liked the episode. Tara (or tarantula as my phone tried to change her name to) is a great character. I've liked her since she came into the show. It's obvious that many groups are going to have to get together to overthrow Negan. We can't have that happen without meeting the groups and knowing their back stories. I'm half expecting Heath to next appear with Negans group.

Eugene did the best sad face ever when Tara got home.

Ahh makes sense now

I do think the next 2 episodes are going to be awesome and as I've mentioned before if you binge watched this Season's episodes back to back they would be better

Do we know that Heath and Tara were driving in a straight line? If they weren't, then Tara could have walked back a lot quicker (walking in a straight line).

They should have already learned that lesson from last season, I don't think these types of episodes were well recieved then either.

They have now finished filming season 7, all 16 episodes are shot and in the can. I hope the second half is more action packed.

likes the episode overall.. good to see some of tara who kinda got lost during her RL pregnancy

who was the zombie at the end ? (at first ithought it was Heath then it panned down and she was wearing a dress) was she of any "importance" or was it just a fake out ? and we were supposed to assume it was heath

I don't think she was anything important. I think she was just to make us think it was Heath for all of about a minute. I'm guessing Heath got away because of the tyre tracks.

No, they hadn't been, but there was a line of dialogue where Heath said they had been away for two weeks and had nothing to show for it.

Yeah, because she was black with dreads she looked like Heath. Implication was that Heath had driven away - van was gone, fresh tire tracks, dropped card from the satellite station.

To be fair that is a very popular trope in post-apocalyptic fiction. As someone said earlier in the thread it was also used in Z Nation

But weren't the smashed glasses on the floor his? To me that says he didn't get away on his own maybe.

Surely Negan would have rounded those women up as playthings for his men to enjoy?

Sorry for bringing reality into the story, but that's how the real world is.”

The Saviours have no idea where the women went, they escaped while the men were fighting, that was the reason behind not letting Tara go and wanting to kill her so she has no chance to betray them.

I've enjoyed the last 2 weeks. Yes they have been slow but it has been piecing everything together like a jigsaw. After the Daryl week, which I found harrowing, I had decided to save the remaining episodes until the mid season break. But I obviously changed my mind.

What I've always liked about the Walking Dead is the story of survival. The first half of this season has shown that Negan and his gang are thugs who bully and take what they want from other groups.

We have now seen that the Kingdom are supplying Negan, in their own way. So they have some control over there lives.

Hilltop are weak and are completely at Negan's mercy. But Jesus, Maggie and Sasha want to change that.

Rick is broken at the moment and is doing what he needs to do to keep what is left of his team as safe as possible. But Rosita, Eugene, Tara and Carl want to fight back.

Now we have this new group. They tried to fight back and paid the price so they moved and hid.

So each group all have their own tale of dealings with Negan and can learn from each other.

I felt last night's episode was interesting and added another piece to the picture.

When you add all these groups to the people in Negan's group who are not part of his elite group, to me it makes the whole thing interesting.

It has been slow but you can see where it is going and we needed to learn about all of the other people.

Rant over

It was actually some time after IIRC.

There was a fight and later an execution of all remaining men and boys over 10 and then the Women went back to working for Negan for a time.

It was only at this point that they packed up and went off into hiding.

I did as well - and I think it would have been a far more interesting (and brave) episode if that is how it had panned out.

Oceanside is a great location in the comic with some really interesting characters like Siddiq. Not sure why they have diverted from the comic and made it all women.

Maybe all the men aren't dead and Negan has them all working for him.
If Rick kills Negan we could see Rick strolling into Oceanside with the men all running back to there wives like the ending of Temple Of Doom with the kids

Like I said, we actually know they are about 200 miles i.e. the distance from the Washington area to the Virginia shoreline (we saw the map) - from where the Saviours and everyone else are.

I agree. Negan has hurt all of the groups at one point. I can see sll four groups getting together and we will see a hige battle similar to the game of thrones battle in the previous season.

The women have the guns sll the others have the men and numbers.
I still dont think we will see any of this untill next season...maybe the mid season break.

To be honest though i actually liked this episode and thought the womens men had all been killed by rick and his mates.

I think im gunna watch the forst 8 episodes again...one after the other as watching them all together will mske it mote understandable imo .

I would like to know what the posters who complain of each episode being dull and slow would like to see happen instead? Not saying this to be provocative or anything, I'd just be interested to know.

I think that most of what's being shown on screen is pretty much how things would be, as the woman from Oceanside said, it really is everyone for themselves now, with commodities becoming so scarce. The only thing I find unrealistic(apart from the fact it's a zombie apocalypse obviously) is the lack of winter episodes, which would surely be when things got even more unbearable.

Well, Georgia as almost sub-tropical, so I don't think they get much of a winter. But it would be interesting to get news about what is happening further afield.

Looking at the map again, I think I have miscalculated the distance. The Oceanside camp is probably somewhere in the middle of the Chesapeake Bay, not the Atlantic shore. So probably only 3-4 days walking, and we are only a couple of weeks after Episode 1.
