Then we have Daryl's escape attempt (presumably it was Jesus gave him the note) .
D'ye reckon? I'd have said Dwight, who has just had his buttons pushed one time too often by Negan, but who's too wimpy to do anything personally.

Maybe, but I was thinking more his wife. She seems as sick - if not more so - of the situation as Dwight, but also seems to have more balls than he does.

Can't be Jesus, unless the show is going to convieniently gloss over how he managed to get that far into the compound and steal a key he couldn't have known existed or where it was, let alone know which one to steal.

Ah, OK, could well be, in fact. And we know she likes the bad boys.

Point is if this was one of the super hero shows you just accept it. I think we have to remember this is from a comic. How Jesus can move about undetected is amazing. I think he would have broken Daryl out if it was him. Sherry told him to go back when she saw Daryl before. Her giving up Mark and Amber/ her kiss with Negan and her reaction show how scared of him she is. Dwight has been ironed and been forced to see Mark tortured as well. Put that with Gordon and I think he has reached the point of turning against Negan.

Yet she was the one who told Daryl he'd be better off returning to his cell last time he got out. Also, it seems to me she's actually fairly happy where she is. She's become leader and spokesperson for the other wives, telling Negan "What we talk about when you're not here is none of your business" and deciding that one of them should be turned in for canoodling with her boyfriend. I know she first became a wife in order to get her husband's sentence punisement, but now she seems to have fallen out of love with him. I suspect if Dwight got killed by a zombie or something, she'd carry on being a wife anyway. She wouldn't rock the boat by talking to Dwight , so I doubt she'd go out of her way to help Daryl, either. If she wanted to kill Negan, she could use the approach Carol told Andrea to use, and do it after sex.

Wasn't it a lock-pick rather than a key? The reason I thought it was Jesus is that we saw him on the van roof, and then we saw him gone. Daryl also saw him on the roof, so it makes some sense if he went to save Daryl.

As for how Jesus got deep into the compound, I think he's just cool. Before worrying about the details you should worry about how he hid on the roof of the van next to a well-guarded, multi-storey building without anyone looking down and noticing him.

Just about to watch it but read the recap. It seems that Daryl went into a room with chess pieces in and became angry. In the sandwich making episode we saw Dwight carving chess pieces. I don't think this can be an industry at the Sanctuary so it looks like Dwight gave him the tool and Daryl knows which is his room. Otherwise his chances of escape would be very low wandering into anyones room. He probably became angry because he now owes Dwight for saving him and he really wanted to kill him.

Still want to know what Rick saw from the back of the lorry that wasn't there before, and what was with the scene in the house where it looked like it was transitioning to a flashback but didn't.

Wow back on top form, was starting to think this ark was going to get dragged out for two seasons. It certainly made up for all these slow episodes.

Negan's gonna be annoyed when he finds out Daryll is gone.

Wonder how many Saviours will join Rick and Co in the war, perhaps Dwight will and one or two others whom are unsure.

Excellent episode! Loved it, and had me bawling at the end

Those who died won't be missed.

But who is looking after Judith now, with Rick and Carl at the Hilltop?

What's the name of the guy who was talking to Morgan and Carol. Reminds me a bit of David Morrissey.

Grrr Mid season break. Stupid idea.

Actually I thought that was quite a weak episode for a mid season finale. I didn't not like it but I think I expected more from a mid season break episode (the Hershel one always stands out for me). I think I expected the death of Rosita or Michonne in this episode but we got Spencer and Oliva. Meh! (How many Alexandrians are left now apart from the main group - about four isn't there?)

I guess it's all set up for the second part of the season but this was quite weak for me. Overall I have enjoyed the 1st part of the season as a whole, it was always going to be hard following that first episode

I thought it was a bit weak for a mid season finale as well but was rescued at the end by the gathering of the Magnificent Seven or however many there were..............

The second half looks like it's going to be much better

I can't see Carol not getting involved somewhere............. if not she might as well just be written out and leave

Did anyone catch the significance of the guy who visited Carol sneaking off to the hidden caravan ?

Me too! I really hope she gets her mojo back come February! Don't want her to be insignificant.

Morgan has been the biggest disappointment to me. And Negan too, I find him quite boring.

No, what was that? I thought for a minute it was the RV that Negan and Rick were in, but it wasn't - what was your take on it?
