That's the best way to do it, I've only just finished S6.

Agreed, I have little sympathy, Negan et al are only seeking payback for Rick slaughtering his group. It was uncomfortable watching.

I've been thinking it for ages, especially since the Governor. I just find these kind of stories, too samey and considering they could be done in any non zombie apocalypse type show, it feels like a waste to me.

I got the message of TWD in the first season, I get it, Humans are crap, didn't even need TWD to tell me that. Real life gives enough proof.

Good god, that first eppy was a bit much wasn't it? Yes we've all watched the gore throughout the previous 6 seasons but that was a bit over the top.

Amazing how far we have come with regards to on-screen gore and violence. It's prime time viewing now on TV, but back in the 70's and 80's this sort of stuff would have been the reserve of the "video nasty" genre of movies. Probably banned.

Banana on E4 had more gore and shock value IMO.

Well that was extremely traumatic. Amazing.....amazing performances by all.

I know people have argued that this show has always been gory, but it has never been quite this gory or quite this twisted. It was truly gruesome - up there with the most twisted horror movies, but in my opinion harder to watch because we have known these characters through 4-6 seasons.

I'm not complaining, though I wouldn't like to see it to that extreme every week.

Slightly disappointed with the outcome, i wasn't surprised with the 2 they killed off.
Hopefully the show doesn't go downhill again, but I have my doubts. It's been up and down since season 3 in my opinion.

I laughed at Negan's "vampire bat" line

He is - and JDM knocked it out if the park.

Look, some people still don't understand the show is about the humans and not the zombies so they moan week after week, it's best to ignore the cretins.

I've done it since season 4 actually. Initially i'd wait until the final episode and then just binge them all over the course of a few days, but in the last couple of years i've started watching a few days before the final episode is due to air and worked it out that I catch up and watch the season finale with everyone else - mainly because the show is becoming so popular now that it would be near impossible to avoid spoilers (which is a whole other issue in itself!)

I knew Glenn was the comic book death and had predicted him or Abraham since we knew they were doing this storyline in the show. I knew the rumours about two deaths as well, but they made Glenn's so needless, with it being because of Daryl's temper tantrum. Don't think the group will forgive him too easily for that one.

Way to go Maggie though. The first one to be up and demanding the group go and fight back, after what she's just been through.

Despite losing Glenn and Abraham, I thought it was a brilliant episode. A game changer. And JDM is fantastic as Negan.

For me the episode highlighted the show's problems with pacing and padding. There was a lot of ambling around and too much reliance on gore (which really went a step up with Noah's death already).

Tbh I think each series is a good 6-8 episodes too long and it's starting to suffer due to lacking an end point or clearly over arching story. It's wandering around, telling us the same things about humanity over and over, facing the same problem over and over and just trying to think of bigger shock tactics. I know the producers don't want it and say it's not that kind of show but I wish they'd decide upon an end point and start working their way there.

Also I have to say that I'll miss Abraham more than Glenn. Glenn had trailed off as a character in the past couple of series and at least Abraham had (forgive the pun) a bit of life in him.

Not read any spoilers but thought after the 1st death that it would be abit of a cop out after all the build up then bang he takes another. The second one was harder to take.

I'm quite chuffed about the outcome - going to spoiler without tags as it's been done above.

Bit disappointed about Abraham but suspected as he was a strong male, it was past time for Glenn to go. Just a shame that we will be left with a moping Maggie and possibly another child to slow them down.

I could see Maggie going in the opposite direction actually and becoming a bit of a psycho who wants revenge at all costs.

The way Glen was sitting there with his eye and telling Maggie he will kind her......oh my God.....it had me roaring.

Abraham took it like a champion and his words to negan that he should suck his balls.....

As has been mentioned before it was truly horrific simply because we had built up relationships with the characters of the years.
Maggie is a brilliant actress..........I can understand why negan did what he did....Rick is now a shell of his former self and is ladened with women and kids now.....no strong males to back him up......

For some reason, Fox Norway did not show WD The story so far.

And what will she feel about Daryl (and maybe Rosita) now? I just wish Maggie was gone. Sigh.

I think I will give this first episode a miss and tune in next week. Having read the spoilers I don't like what happened and hope next week will see the group get back to Alexandria.

I know is a horror series and such and I generally think its great, but it just overstepped the gratuitous gruesome factor (the episode with Glenn, in the revolving doors and seeing a death was similar) but the main difference this was spread out over 30mins, instead of seconds.... I will continue watching, but I think it may have just gone too far for quite a few people....

It was far worse than I imagined it would be, and would recommend just listening and not looking at the screen for some parts of it, and you wouldn't lose the dramatic tension.
