Smoked everything nowadays
Why is there this massive assumption that everyone loves smoked stuff? Bacon, cheese, sauces etc.
We're out for the day and it seems all the options involve smoked this and smoked that. It's not so bad if it's advertised but three times I've ordered variously a chilli and two pasta dishes to have them show up loaded with smoked paprika. It limits breakfast options when the bacon is smoked. I hate smoked food |

I can't say I've noticed any more than normal. I love smoked stuff though, I make an awesome smoked cheddar and garlic mash and I'm a fan of smoked beers.
I'd quite like to get a smoker. |

If the meals are cooked from scratch and not ready meals then just ask before you order if it contains smoked paprika and ask for it to be left out.

I prefer smoked salmon to normal cooked salmon, although I think it's best raw.

I like smoked stuff, but I agree that its annoying when a food style or product is done to death. I quite like a bit of chilli but the number of sauces and foods that currently have chilli bunged in them is ridiculous. Chorizo is cropping up far too much for my liking too.

I haven't really noticed an increase in smoked products (even though I usually like them - especially smoked bacon) but I agree that pulled pork seems to be everywhere these days. Retailers and restaurants are always going through new trends though so there will be another craze along soon.
Another one is sushi - every new restaurant opening around here seems to be yet another sushi chain. |

Smoked fish, and bacon tastes good. I haven't noticed more of it about; smoked produce has been around centuries probably.

I love smoked food and tend to use smoked paprika when I can, obviously that doesn't apply to curry.

I used to love smoked paprika, until i got a jar that smelt a bit like an ashtray and it put me off ever since.
Sweet chilli sauce is a food that was everywhere about ten years ago. I absolutely sickened myself to it, and cant even smell it now without feeling queasy |

Some eating places are now offering smoked salt - certainly not with fish and chips, that's just too much

I had hot smoked chicken breast with pasta last night, absolutely georgeous, moment smoked plain supermarket chicken breast. Hickory smoked which is quite strong, but in the pasta just perfect.

Colgin Liquid Smoke Natural Hickory 472 ml - it is expensive but I love it and put it in lots of my veggie foods. |

Pulled pork is popular with food sellers becasue they load it up with sauce & very little meat, ( cheap for them to produce), that is why it is better to make your own & use very little sauce. I like smoked foods & we do use the liquid smoke seasoning often. Dh even drinks lapsang souchong tea, which really smells smokey, not a fan of that.
