A succinct and witty one I would suggest.

What is the source for that? The largest differentiating component to patronization versus condescension is the appearance of amiability, sincerity or kindness.

patronize
1 (often as adjective patronizing) Treat with an apparent kindness that betrays a feeling of superiority: “She’s a good-hearted girl,” he said in a patronizing voice; she was determined not to be put down or patronized

Certainly, there's nothing construably kind about saying a person has the vocabulary of an acorn. Even Lateysha could figure that was an insult.

Special mention to Andy's frustrated, eye-rolly face they show in between scenes in the HLs. We've seen that 3-second reaction far more this series than the likes of Andrew or Marco!

Nope. As she is Welsh, it is simply a descriptive word used in the same way in which you might describe and identify a fat person, an unintelligent person etc.

Andy comments: “Well there’s a surprise! There, I’m being patronising, you have the vocabulary of an acorn.”

😂😂😂😂😂 😘👌”

Oh Andy I love you. How do you stay calm listening to her venom. Andy to win🙂

Lateysha so deserved that. You say he's patronising? Well there take that and stick it up your fake ass. Favourite or not you were anihilated. Deal with it. Jason and Andy have outlasted you. Please don't grace our screens again. Go and earn some money for you and your daughter. Hopefully with a real job too. Have you no shame woman?

Rant over

It was a brilliant response, probably the best one liner of the series.

Me too. It was easily the most stylish use of the much-overused F-word in the whole series.

There are times when it's appropriate to be a patronising, arrogant, condescending prick.....and this was certainly the perfect time.

I think the patronising aspect was due to speaking to her in quite a nice tone when he said "What a surprise" in a disingenuous manner.
I agree with the other poster in that it's not always easy to distinguish whether something is patronising or condescending. Sometimes it can be both.

Often I tend to think of when somebody is talking down to somebody as if they are a child, patronising, and when somebody is talking down to somebody in an arrogant manner I usually see it as condescending.

I think he let himself down a little in insulting her, but I figure he had just given up. Her mind has been made up on Andy for a long time, and she was never going to listen to what he had to say to defend himself. She's no longer a part of the house, so he probably figured he has no reason to try to work things out between them any more.

Also. If you use exclamation marks you must not use them at the end of a question. if you do use them use 1 only. (Year6 SATS)

It was brilliant. BB had brought her in there to demean and get payback on Andy and in one line, without raising his voice, Andy eviscerated her.

And he was perfectly justified in his comments.

I can imagine what went on 'backstage' prior to this ridiculous 'performance' from Lateysha, Ryan & Charlie..........they would all be so full of themselves, & clearly think they were justified in saying anything they liked (whether it was true or not), to certain HM's.
It just beggars belief that the producers think behaviour like this is acceptable from Ex HM's who have been evicted, for whatever reason.
The fact they endorse it, & actually encourage it, says more about the immaturity of the producers!
