She leads a double life - has one man at home who her two youngest are from, and sees other men at weekends. She smokes drugs all day long and will talk to anyone about her life. She loves reggae and dancehall - got banned from her youngest's school by blasting very sexual dancehall music - the kids were coming out with it in the class.

Before all this, she was mad. Used to get involved with her neighbours domestic dispustes, left her oldest kids with a nine year old, and some random lesbians she didn't know! Got chased by a man in a halloween mask around where we lived in the tower blocks, knew the local lesbian community and had one live with her....then admitted recently she slept with all of the friends of her oldest kid's Dad who was an alocholic who used to beat her.

I do have an uncle who has had drug issues and has a scizophrenic girlfriend who controls his life.

I have lost a partner to a sudden death - that was nearly two agos. He was an eplectic who had a fit in the bathroom. Only 32 he was.”

Oh dear, how awful for you.

I've never admitted this to anyone but I once had a bottle of bubbly chilling in the fridge.

The closest I've come to my life mimicking a soap is Lynne Slater copying half my wardrobe in the early 00s.

How depressing.

Look on the bright side, at least it wasn't Kat.

Mick Carter was wearing the exact socks I wear last week. I'm still mortified.

I dated this girl with an American accent who moved here from America to be with her family. Several weeks later her American accent turned in to a British one.

You know the saying, a friend will help you move house, a good friend will help you move a body? I've got 3 really good friends...

Joking aside, other than the usual thing of serious topics covered by soaps such as losing people to Cancer and other chronic, terminal illnesses, depression, Dementia and knowing a couple of people that have attempted, or committed suicide and sadly knowing several people that have been abused or raped, either as children or adults.

The two '2vents' that immediately spring to mind is a school friend having a meltdown at a New Years Eve party and coming out as gay and that he'd been secretly sleeping with another friend for 2 years, to a full room, including the man he'd been sleeping with, his parents and girlfriend.

Other one was when i was bridesmaid to a friend and one of the other bridesmaid's accidentally spilt red wine on the dress. Huge screaming match, "you"'ve ruined my wedding" type thing, both on floods of tears at opposite ends of the room and me not knowing who to go to as i was bery good friends with both. This was 21 years ago (almost to the day) and they've never made up. In fact, the only time they've seen each other since was at my 30th birthday party and it was very strained.

I did write a really long post about stuff that had happened to me, but when I read it back it was a bit depressing and i'd rather not dwell on it all or bring anyone else down. Live, love and be happy

Just re reading through this because Of two 'soap style' events that have happened and occurred to me recently

A friend of mine met her partner and got engaged quickly and quickly set a date for the wedding (and true to soap style, got an early date due to a cancellation ). A week before the wedding, she found a terrible secret out about her partner and it was very 'will they, won't they' with her still nit having made her mind up in the day. She ultimately went through with it due to guests etc having already arrived, and they separated a month later with her fleeing to another country- although has since returned

Also another friend of mine woke up one morning to find a note from her husband saying that he wasn't happy in the marriage and had gone. exactly a week later, her best friends husband said that his wife left him. Turns out the husband had been having an affair with her best friend and had run away to France. He came back out of the blue a year later and there was screaming matches and tears etc

Ari the snake stalker in Neighbours was fairly similar to something that happened to me in real life, minus the snakes. I was Steph in that situation lol.

I feel like a soap character sometimes

I put my spoke in where it's not wanted, unwittingly cause unnecessary trouble, never learn and am totally annoying!

Just like Alfie Moon I suppose

One night out clubbing I'd had too many cheeky vimtos, I was gagging for a pish so toddled off to the ladies, whilst in there some stranger handed me a yoghurt pot lid under the stall. Safe to say I was instantly turned on, dripping and gagging for much more than a wee.

9 months later I had a sprog, and the delightful daddy came to see me in hospital but my mum, who was getting coffee at the time said three familiar faces were rushing at the same time, turns out two were going else where in the hospital.

A couple of years later, my best friends step son broke into my flat and battered me round the noggin with a picture frame.

Tragic.

My mother in law is the town bike. (Everyone's had a ride...) She makes Liz McDonald look like a nun! Her first marriage in her teens (this was in 1961) was a shotgun wedding - she was six months pregnant with my husband, her father knew she was 'dating' two brothers and a bunch of their friends and she didn't know who the father of the child was so the Dad chose the eldest brother. The marriage didn't last, he skipped town and moved to the other side of Canada to avoid paying child support because he said the kid wasn't his. Her parents put her in a convent school to try and get her to settle down and behave but it didn't work - and they were Anglican not Roman Catholic - that's how desperate they were over her! She hooked up and stayed with a local paedophile/molester who was found dead several years later in compromising circumstances at a known gay trysting spot, and at age 70 she's still going strong, apparently. My husband hasn't had contact with her in decades, his choice.

I think based on most of my outlaws' family alone I could write a soap opera! My husband called himself the oddball of the family - he's normal!

My ex got our sons babysitter pregnant while I was in hospital with appendicitis. Threw him out the minute I found out, and I never heard from him again, thank god. I offered him the chance to spend some time with our son but he refused. Last time I heard he's playing happy families with the babysitter and their daughter, according to her Facebook they are off to Las Vegas next year for their wedding.
