Alex was not my favorite housemate, however felt I should start this thread as there is nothing positive being said about Alex. I can understand if people were happy to see him go purely because they found him boring as we have not seen much of him. I would say this is a case of him being overshadowed by drama rather than lack of personality.

I put my hands up in saying I usually dislike the types of guys like Alex who are in bb every year simply because they get away with a lot and are liked for being male, young, white and attractive.

I don't understand the labeling of Alex as being arrogant. He could have handled the situation with Evelyn better, but I did not see evidence of arrogance. I found him laid back and surprisingly normal(maybe that was his downfall).

However I quite Liked Alex, he seemed like a sensible, decent guy who was being himself. Its shame we did not get to see more of him. I just don't get how that disingenuous, cringe bag Jackson was more liked than someone like Alex.

Nothing to do with looks. Some quite attractive guys have won the show.

Who said he was arrogant? If he learnt to speak more clearly he might have stayed - no-one knew what he was saying.

It's a personal taste thing, you have yours, others have theirs.

He was OK. Not a nasty side to him but he should of got involved more.

Like who?

I can think of maybe two. Anthony Hutton and Scotty T.

There has never ever been a housemate more devoid of personality than Alex.

Every time he spoke it was painful to watch.

People's main gripe was that he contributed very little to the series as a whole, and when he did speak up, he was largely incoherent. That's why they wanted him evicted; because he coasted to the final week. He seems a decent bloke otherwise, and I don't imagine many people would argue otherwise.

Also a glimpse of the 'other' Alex was shown regarding Everlyn.

And it's simply the fact his personality is almost non existent. Also a lot of people, literally couldn't understand what he said most of the time. When he did speak. That doesn't bode well on tv for a start.

we had subtitles tonight and quickly found out that humour is not his strong point either

Craig BB1 also. Not a bad looking fella. I'd have to remind myself of the other male winners first. To say anymore.

His personality was pretty much non existent, and it was almost impossible to understand a word he said.

OP, I really think it was lack of personality. Come on....Alex really was a total dudd. Even when BB tried to draw him out with some air time it fell flat. There was no point. The only time Alex got off his butt to participate was when he had to nominate---and that only because he had no choice. Without nominations we would not have even been aware he was in that house. Honestly---I'm not hating on him---he really was that bad. I don't understand why he even wanted to be in BB???

The criticism of Alex reminded me a lot of the comments Cristian was receiving last year.

They were both quite similar in the fact that they were often described as being boring and both were noted for their good looks.

As many others have said, I think he would have done a lot better if not for the monotone voice combined with quite a strong accent.

I didn't like it when he just STARED silently at people. Like when Laura was asking him why they didn't get on. Or when Evelyn was trying to tell him how she felt... Or when Laura and Evelyn were talking about him and he just sat STARING on the sofa...

...actually his silent STARING was mostly at the girls.

Guy pure freaked me out.

I have done full circle with Jason and now think he is a sweet nice man who is clueless at times. However lets be honest what personality does Jason have that Alex lacks?

This is me speaking as someone one who wanted Jason do better than Alex. Jason favorite words most of the time was "I don't know what to say". The guy is a wet blanket who is quite clueless. He just got lucky because he was given a story line.

That certainly would have helped maybe but, no. He just wanted to add BB to his career portfolio. End of. He was a waste of a housemate space.

There's nothing wrong with Alex. He was basically a normal level headed person put inside an insane asylum and looked quiet compared to idiots like Ryan and Lateysha and became forgettable.

I don't think BB really tried to do anything to bring him out though, did he even get his own task from BB?

I always thought of Craig as being average.

I guess it's because I only see the pretty boys as being attractive.

Oh yeah, I forgot about him.

It's because I didn't watch BB12. I was trying to quit Big brother at the time.

Not sure I agree with this. Cristian WAS arrogant, was ridiculously petulant, and had a startling inability to deal with criticism. Combined with his general dullness, he made for an awful housemate. At least Alex came across slightly likable at times.
