Why would it cost 70k ? On this website it says the costs are about £15k.

I had KT over for a nappy booking just a month or two ago, was thoroughly satisfied, and left very good feedback on Napr

It costs nothing to adopt a child (whether you are straight or gay), it does however take time and a lot of hard work but no money.

I tell you this as somebody who has adopted children.

Sometimes heterosexual parents are unfaithful I know it shocked me too.

Apparently surrogacy costs money however we have zero idea as to what he was getting at because BB haven't allowed us to hear about this before so maybe it's time to reserve judgement.

Pulling a page out of Jackson's book. I've reiterated all season that Andy is unerringly sketchy and manipulative. What the bleeding hell does winning this show have to do with him having a baby? Hell, if he could somehow throw it so Jackson wins, I'm sure he'd donate his kid.

Like it or maybe if Jackson throws it so Andy wins he can buy Jackson's kid Sorted.

what did Jackson say, that he was going to share it out equally to African orphans?

I hate all this attempting to tug at our heart strings, we don't give a **** what you need the money for

Some of them are desperate now. All a light-hearted few second "plea". Only Jackson and his acceptance speech and Andy "I can be a dad" are manipulating the voters into feeling sorry for them. I'm still not convinced that Andy and ed are actually a couple and going on Ed's antics, neither is he.

Adoption costs no more for gay couples than it does for heterosexual couples and single people, and the cost is negligible compared to the reward. If it was £100k virtually no children would be adopted. Yes it is a very tough process and nobody would last the process unless they were totally single-minded There are still lots of young children (not necessarily babies) who would desperately like to be part of a loving family (particularly boys age 3-5).

I supposed if you want to go the surrogacy route without too much cost, just a willing friend and a turkey baster would be needed (and the legal fees after)

It's 15k for the expenses for the woman that carries the child.
That's just one part of the expense.

Let me break it down for you.

Surrogacy:
5k In vitro fertilization treatment each time. Can take multiple times for the woman to get pregnant.
8-10k Health Insurance for the full term the surrogate carries the baby and after birth.
3-5k Hospital fees for birth, more if there are complications.
15-20k Expenses for the surrogate mother during the pregnancy.
30-50k Paid to surrogate upon "delivery" of child which is always done "under the table."
10-15k Legal fees for contracts/agreements to ensure all parties are covered. Including post birth adoption or parental orders.

Adoption:
10-20k Adoption agency fees for finding/matching the potential parents with a child. Costs more to find a child in a foreign country.
20-30k Legal fees. Adoptions are complicated and requires many many agreements and contracts and many petitions to different bureaucracy.
5-10k Travel multiple times to see potential child if in a foreign country (which it usually is most of the time.) Usually takes 3 visits to the child's home country to complete adoption process.
5-10k Foreign adoption agency fee. Can be more if the agency sees the couple as rich "bait" I've read horror stories of extortion at the last minute to release the child.

It's not as simple as you think!
For many working class gay men, it is an impossible dream. The struggle is real!
I know all this because I have done the research myself but it is just too much to save up for.
And I assure you 100k is already the "cheap" way. I have read stories of couples paying up to 200k for a baby!

Yes I suppose it does depend on which adoption agency you choose and whether it is from the government or private adoption agencies. That is a very big cost discrepancy, but most gay couples I know choose private agencies because government agencies can be biased (even if the bias is veiled.)

I didn't know there even were 'private' adoption agencies in the UK ... I thought the process was entirely regulated and that no-one could make a private money -making business out of the selling and buying of children

Didn't Rylan mention on BOTS a couple of weeks ago that an HM was quoted as saying he'd want Emma W to be a surrogate mum to his child..? And Emma correctly guessed it was Andy who said it!

Andy would make a great dad, no question

It's never nice when you let dislike spill over into body shaming

There I got my sanctimonious dig in

No idea why people are confused or questioning Andy about this. He clearly wants a kid and according to this thread it has been mentioned at least once before, he's no doubt mentioned it loads but BB have chosen not to show it, he's getting married so having a kid often comes next, surrogacy costs so why not hope to win and want to use the money towards it. Surely people aren't suggesting he's lying and doesn't really want a kid

The only anti seems to be Ed but Andy doesn't know about the accusations and in fact we don't categorically know. I personally think it's as good a use for the money as anything else.
