Doesn't being smart mean you have to be in possession of at least one brain cell rather than hiring one out for special occasions. I was pondering this very subject earlier and it occurs to me that it is shameful that our society thinks its okay to be entertained by people who are attention seeking idiots with no apparent education, and who just want to be on TV.
