£150 is way too low for new hardware, £250 is a more realistic price.
Well its doomed then, a product for mindbendo fans only. PS4 slim and Xbox One s with their vast libraries or this with Skyrim Remastered and Zelda...

Firstly you don't even know how it compares to the Xbox one. Secondly this offers something different, something lot people would pay good money for. The ability to play what will likely be biggest adventure open world game of this generation where ever you like. Something to play games like skyrim where ever you like.

Nintendo handheld market is still a mighty market something even Sony couldn't dominate, so even at £250, I think this would do really well as long as it's marketed better.

Combiing their handheld division and the console business is the best decision nintendo has made in years.
I'm not comparing it on spec, i'm comparing it on price.

How are you going to play it wherever you like? Streaming it on the bus or in the car? Where you geting the data from? Your pitiful phone allowance each month? Good luck with that watching the buffering circle slowly going round while you go from 4G to 3G to H+ then 'no signal'

People dont want different which has been proven with the Wii U. They are all sheep, they want their CODs, they want their GTAs - if the hardware doesn't have third parties on board with FIFA, COD, GTA etc then it doesn't stand a chance.

You think, no ones going to be really interested in spending £200-£300 a couple of months after Christmas, unless there's hype. They've left it too late for the general public who will make or break the console. Sony PS4 was something like 2 years of hype etc and that worked out well.
I hate waiting, and you don't need 2 years of hype as it's a bit overkill and I'll get bored of it. People who really want it will either start saving up now or will work out how to buy it, it's 3 months after Christmas, so it's not like it is straight after it.

I've been a bit mere about Nintendo since the Wii (although that console wasn't bad, just got bored of it) and I was a bit sceptical about the portable home console idea, but from that short video has already sparked interest again.

Erm but they do want Nintendo handhelds. 3ds has sold over 60 million since 2011.

The Xbox one has sold roughly 22-23 million in 4 years.

^Yes but your looking at this from the eyes of someone who is a techie/nerd (no disrespect), hence why your on this channel. That's not the market Nintendo need to hit, as proved by the Wii they need the general market, for sales, then the techies to drive development for the games. Thats takes time and I don't think 5 months or less will cut it.

The Wii? Used by your granny at Christmas when she had too many sherries and you all laughed at her playing the bowling with your dad, then it went in the cupboard never to be touched again.

Can you give me the lotto numbers too? lol

People can be so negative and already make up their minds before something is even out. When the Wii U was announced twitter was negative about it, but with the Nintendo Switch the mood is totally different and most people are liking the look of this.

They got it wrong with the Wii U and that showed in the sales, but they can still do this one right.

Hence why I said "to drive general sales" "then the techies, to drive the development" without the general sales the console will die, like the Wii U

I think it's cool, and Skyrim Remastered and Zelda as launch titles are far far bigger titles than what the Xbox One and PS4 had at launch- Looks like a Mario Kart and Splatoon update as well- They look to have third party support as well, so that's good

All in all, impressive, if slightly out of the blue, launch

The cartridge goes in the bit you take with you. No need for streaming. Battery life however...

I don't think there's any streaming involved... judging by the video, there's a cartridge slot - you use the same cartridge/slot regardless of whether you're using it at home or on the go.

Aye, fair enough, good luck to it. See what happens the next couple of months or so.

Pesonally I wanted something to help me ditch my PS4 / X1 for a bit (like thinking the Wii U would do with PS3/360)

I'm not anti Nintendo, sorry if it seems this way!!!

Peace and love

Nintendo 64, Gamecube and the Wii was successful and good consoles.

Good yes, successful debatable, like I said they need to get both parts right general sales and the techy sales, the Wii got one not the other.

I'd say they were successful.

But it's not the hardware that is the issue for me, the wii and wii u just didn't have the games I wanted and that's why I didn't buy a wii u. If they want to make Nintendo Switch a hit then they'll have to have a few decent games on release of the console and carry that on.

Not being a Nintendo fan for a long time (I totally ignored the Wii U) I'm actually looking forward to seeing this. Maybe even buy one!

I personally think they've left it to late for the hype train, the have 5 months to build the hype WTF!!!. Microsoft have started the hype train for the Scorpio and thats not released for another year.

If I was Nintendo, push back the release till June when sales are generally slower and people are often on the look out for something new. Get the hype rolling, get demo units into shops etc. At the moment they're going to get lost amongst PS4 Pro, PSVR, XBOX Slim etc etc.
Scorpio hype? where? it was announced and thats it, no one is talking about it now.

£150 or less RRP or its already dead.

Cant charge £250+ for this when you can get an Xbox One s and a game for the same price.
and is that portable too? can you 2 play at the same time for that price?
