I'm shocked that it's not "an explosive exit" (they nearly always are).

Decent actor and potentially decent character who was wasted pretty much through his entire run. I guess this might be the first sign that SOC is starting to trim the deadwood characters.

Its like they don't even bother with storylines for some of the characters.
A similar thing happened with Bobby Davros character. |

No big loss, and one less Carter can't be a bad thing.

As long as it doesn't lead to Shirley going back to Phil after he leaves.
Give her someone else; Kush or Masood. |

I could not buy him as being the father of Mick or the partner of Shirley, it just felt so forced. Same with Kathy, Buster just seemed far too much of a drip for her. |

What a waste.
Karl Howman was great in the role but he wasn't given much to do. |

They could have utilised him a lot, a cheeky chappie on the market, a friend for Billy, a bit of light relief.
I could not buy him as being the father of Mick or the partner of Shirley, it just felt so forced. Same with Kathy, Buster just seemed far too much of a drip for her. He was obviously just brought in for a purpose and now they think his character is spent but we NEED normal characters like him who, like you say, livens up the market, makes friends outside of his family etc. Even if he split up from Shirley and Kathy dumped him why couldn't he stay? There are single men, middle-aged men in real life and he could have become friends with Masood, who is also at a loose end. He made Shirley more likeable when he first arrived and until they decided to have him tomming around Kathy they were a believable couple to me. I think they stretched it having him as the father of both of her sons mind, Dean would have been enough. TBH I can't stand Kathy nowadays, I'd have preferred to lose her than Buster! |

This is another example of dtcs ret-conning and ideas failing.
buster could have been a good character but he has had no development, storylines or anything since he joined. dtc should have just left shirley as micks sister and had buster come in as a new love interest |

Shame on the writers for not developing his character, I liked him (but not with Kathy, that was stupid.)

Once again I'm lamenting the waste of a potential great. Buster never quite lived up to the promise he showed in his first week.
