I don't know about Eva , but Sean has somehow engineered a situation where , potentially , when he is not on holiday, he is able to appear in almost every scene.
His two jobs, in the pub and the factory, almost guarantee him at least one appearance - but then there is also the Grimshaws ( was there ever a more intrusive lodger ) - not to mention occasional appearances in the street, in the shop and cafe .
Oh and then there's the awful 'relationship with Billy' which has never appeared to be anything but contrived to give him yet more airtime.
In almost all of his scenes , his dialogue is entirely superfluous to the rest of the show - and could well be written out without the street losing anything - and yet , he remains .
