CS: Why do Sean and Eva work at the Rovers on top of the factory?
None of the other factory workers need to take a second job, so why these two? Do they work part time at the factory?

I dare say airheads like them are up to their eyeballs in credit card debt so need all the money they can get. |

Ridiculous. Are we meant to believe Sean (who is in charge of 'catering' as he owns Betty's secret hotpot recipe) heads over to the Rovers in the morning, prepares the grub before working at Underworld?
Sean must be sorted for life..........two part-time jobs and pays very little when it comes to rent! He should really find a place of his own, who cares if Eileen wants him there or the character 'belongs' with the Grimshaws...........no-one is saying he shouldn't have scenes with them anymore, but sleeping on a couch for so long............have some ambition and move out!! Eva should be a full-time barmaid. Wasted in that ghastly factory! Producers need to put her talents to better use. Another thing, is/Was Izzy on a part-time contract? They must pay very well, considering all the government cuts that would affect her......... |

What does Eva do at the factory now anyway? I remember a couple of years ago she worked as a PA, before suddenly becoming a barmaid, and is now back at the factory. Is she another addition to the overcrowded office?

I think Eva has part time jobs at both the factory and the rovers which equals to full time work.

Why does Eva work at either? - She strikes me as the sort of lady who would work in fashion retail or marketing - Something better paid with more of a future, anyway.

someone else mentioned Kate, Kate works in packing with Kirk. the only people in the office are Johnny & Aiden
Spoiler
Eva was a barmaid when she first came in so she didnt suddenly become a barmaod. anyways Liz gave her some shifts when Aiden sacked her, don't think we are supposed to think it is anything more than that, she must have carried on doing it cos she likes it and is grateful to Liz |

Sally has a second job as a councillor. she doesn't do either very well, but they're both remunerative.

As far as I know Sally is a Town Councillor and as such they don't get paid , as I don't as a Parish Councillor. The only remuneration is for expenses.

Eva worked at the Rovers when Stella had it then at the factory after she returned from her break. After Aiden sacked her she took up a few shifts and I think she's just kept them on for a bit of extra income. It's not really that unusual, lots of people work in bars to top up their income. I prefer Eva in the Rovers than the factory, she'd make a great landlady imo.

I know she worked at the Rovers with Stella, but then she ended up getting a job as a PA at the factory (with the claim she had a job like this before she arrived on the street). Then around 2014 during the whole debacle between Carla and Peter she got a job at the pub, with her PA job forgotten about.
It is hard to keep track where characters work at times as they disappear, swap jobs and gain instant employment. Same with where they live. |

I know they like to mess with sets but I really don't think they should put the Rovers on top of the factory.

I agree...many many people do two jobs..they are both minimum wages aren't they...
Especially as Eva is with the boss and Sean's a lodger? |

I don't know about Eva , but Sean has somehow engineered a situation where , potentially , when he is not on holiday, he is able to appear in almost every scene.
His two jobs, in the pub and the factory, almost guarantee him at least one appearance - but then there is also the Grimshaws ( was there ever a more intrusive lodger ) - not to mention occasional appearances in the street, in the shop and cafe . Oh and then there's the awful 'relationship with Billy' which has never appeared to be anything but contrived to give him yet more airtime. In almost all of his scenes , his dialogue is entirely superfluous to the rest of the show - and could well be written out without the street losing anything - and yet , he remains . |
