I think some of the current "actors" in soaps are living proof that you don't have to be able to act to be an actor, *cough Anthony Cotton cough*

I would be a producer, then log on to Digital Spy, secure in the knowledge that everyone would love my work.

Anyway, to answer the question, If I had the chance to pick I'd like to be in Emmerdale, I don't know who I'd play, maybe Leyla's new love interest? I wouldn't want to be a regular though, they're doing seven episodes a week this summer, imagine the working hours

I'd love a part in Emmerdale - Cain's lust interest. I wouldn't like to be his love interest, it'd be too complicated!

Dammit you beat me to it

I like that the actors talk of a real sense of family in the workplace, but I do think the demands of working on a soap would be very stressful and I'd HATE being famous, so I guess it's s a ' no.'

Wouldn't mind just a job working behind the scenes on Corrie!!
Would be interested to get to know the faces behind the characters & see how it all works!! Bet it's quite stressful though!!

I do some amateur acting but if I was a pro, why not? It's regular work and high profile. My professional friends spend a lot of time out of work so a nice soap contract must be very attractive.

What I don't understand is why, when I know how many very good actors there are out there, some absolute dross picks up soap contracts. There are some very good actors but it really does have a real range of ability.

More likely to leave earlier?

I have in the past (Obviously not acting), so definitely wouldn't again. Way too much work for too little money.

I'd love to work on Coronation Street. Not as an actor (unless you fancy watching MDF six nights a week!) but as a set designer.

Would make them look much more realistic and any partially used sets I'd put on the backlot.

For females ...
Anyone but "Zoe Slater's best mate".

That role has a very unfortunate history for the actresses.

Same here. I'd want to be the producer. But if I had to play a character I'd want to play Aaron on Emmerdale or David on Corrie.

I'd like to be cast as a love interest for Aiden on Corrie. Step aside Eva, there's a new blonde in town.😇

Yes, I would love a role in a soap; but I don't have a celebrity sister, I am not related to anyone in the casts, and I am not a failed pop singer, so my chances are less than nil.. In a fantasy world, I would like to be a daughter that Eric (ED) didn't know he had, a half-sister to David; some good stories could be written around that.
