I agree KK, probably a one off, but I live in hope
If there is another one then I'm definitely going to try and get a seat in the audience.

I'm fairly sure it was recommissioned for a second series though I may be wrong ...

EDIT: DS article about series 2 here
Interesting. I wasn't expecting this but will definitely be tuning in to see where it goes from here.

Do you think there's much likelihood of this happening again or was it a one off for last year? I would tend to think the latter as these types of festivals rarely repeat things.

Saying that, I'd love it to happen again and I'd love to be in the audience!
There is good excuse for them to do another one if they wished to as they have practically a whole new set of guests with producer changeover at three of the four big soaps and I would be interested in hearing what they had to say.

I agree but I reckon it'll have been a one off for last year.

There should be an international soaps festival!

True, they could also change the title. The title are quite vague anyway, so they could have a similar type of discussion even If It was called something different (If that makes sense )

Last year they were trying to discuss how and if the soap genre could continue to exist in its current form and for how long, even though (as with most panel-based discussions) the producers and actors ended up talking about all kinds of unrelated things.

Anyone watching Ordinary Lies when It returns? I'm going to give Cold Feet a go too, which starts on 5th September.

I liked Ordinary Lies last time so might give that another go. No idea what Cold Feet is about.

Hello Foxy, I hope you've been managing TTNEP well whilst I've been away?

------------------------

Ben, if the thread name was to change (I hope it doesn't, there's no point?), me and Foxy would have to rename TTNEP

Has anyone seen the adverts for the remakes of the old sitcoms? I think they look terrible.

Haven't seen any adverts but I just don't understand the point in reworking things that are so widely accepted as classics and 'of their time'. The Dad's Army movie that came out earlier in the year was widely publicised before its release, but everything went quiet when people realised it would never be as good as the original.
