Quite sad really, this thread used to thrive!
It used to be very busy at one time, even if it was mostly mucky talk! |

Before they broke up, I actually cared for Sonia and Tina, Sonia pulling Shirley off her high horse was a brilliant scene, whilst Tina struggling to care for Sylvie by herself whilst working was done in a way that I cared for her and felt for her when she was talking about it to Shirley. Same with Stacey and Martin, you can empathise with them about their need for a bigger house. It's amazing that changes to the writing makes such a huge difference. The whole show just feels different, it feels more grounded and everyday. I also love that there is mystery surrounding SOC, makes a refreshing change from DTC and his verbal diarrhoea. Sorry, gone on a bit there! But I can't believe how EastEnders just feels different as a whole. |

Currently, I am liking EE more than I have done in a LONG time. It's weird that once SOC kicked in each episode has a different feel to it, there seems to be better characterisation and script writing, the characters are more realistic and lifelike, the humour has vastly improved and, even though nothing of major importance has happened, each episode has a superb mix of drama and lighter/humorous moments that really brings out the characters in a new light.

Apparently she has Jane and Bobby on speed dial

I very much agree with your first paragraph which makes me all the more furious with his reactionary axings that were done too quickly without thought to what he could do to bring the characters to life. For me Pam and Les were easy pickings but it was absolutely the wrong decision, and if he kills Ronnie as rumoured I will not be at all impressed.
