Aw, hopefully it will improve for you soon

They are! Psychology was one of the units from last years H&SC and it was thoroughly enjoyable and very interesting.

Thanks, we have a six week probation (?) thing so if they don't behave they could be taken off the course.

Very, there's so much to learn about the mind and it's fascinating- so much we still don't know too

Perhaps that is when things may improve then, if some people are taken off the course. Some do think though that they can mess around and not do anything, but a course is not compulsory like school so they can be booted off.

Writing the main assignment where we had to explain the six theories was very intriguing and how you are able to relate to some of them. It would be a very interesting topic to take further and have a job out of it too.

I just wondered with you saying about the probation period and the behaviour of others and doing GSCE's if you were maybe a bit older than the rest.

All seems a bit different from my day, you didn't have probation periods and I can't remember anyone being kicked out

Ohh I see, well the college does have adult students too so that might be why. It's quite new to me too, perhaps my college has only just implemented a probation period this year

We studied these six theories:

The Behaviourist Theory,
Social Learning Theory,
Psychodynamic Approach,
Humanistic Perspective,
Cognitive Perspective,
Biological Perspective.

But it may be different as it was a unit we did

That's one thing that can come out of a psychology degree/qualification, but you can also do jobs like Criminology or Desensitisation.

BIB It would do. physical punishment is banned now, they don't force you to do PE in your knickers if you forget your kit, and Bruce Forsythe is no longer a 30 year old entertainer

Those sound interesting, I hope we learn them at some point! I would love to do Criminology, omg

I am not familiar with Desensitisation though

They were definitely interesting! I did have to check my assignment to remember them though, but the word count was over 6000

Criminology does sound like a good job. Would love to delve into the minds of serial killers/rapists/paedophiles etc.

Desensitisation is when you work with somebody who has a fear of something and reduce their fear to it by exposing them to it. So for example, an individual who suffers from Social Anxiety who cannot go out in public, they will have be shown pictures of public places, such as a supermarket or a street. Eventually, they will be driven to the store by the person they're working with and will sit in the car park. Then, they will go round the store with that person at first, and eventually they will have reduced the fear to the point where they can go around the supermarket/public place by themselves. It does take a while but does sound like a very interesting job.
