Criminology does sound like a good job. Would love to delve into the minds of serial killers/rapists/paedophiles etc.

Desensitisation is when you work with somebody who has a fear of something and reduce their fear to it by exposing them to it. So for example, an individual who suffers from Social Anxiety who cannot go out in public, they will have be shown pictures of public places, such as a supermarket or a street. Eventually, they will be driven to the store by the person they're working with and will sit in the car park. Then, they will go round the store with that person at first, and eventually they will have reduced the fear to the point where they can go around the supermarket/public place by themselves. It does take a while but does sound like a very interesting job.”

Wow, I have social anxiety and I would have loved if someone would have helped me that way I could see that's a job that would really help people! Thanks for explaining to me

I think that would be a very difficult job Atti, I really don't fancy delving into the minds of some on here, you never know what you might find

Desensitisation was shown on Embarrassing Bodies a few years ago too. Another example would be a nurse, who originally could not stand the sight of body fluids but eventually built a tolerance against them because they are part of the job. You're welcome good to see my (lack of) knowledge has helped someone else! I have Anxiety too so do get how you feel.

Sounds like you need plenty of patience for that.

Me, I have none and no sympathy. No pictures and I would just force them into the supermarket then leave them to get on with it.

That is how life works, less cotton wool

But obviously that is just me heart hearted soap-lea

Yes I'm still female so it will have to stay platonic.

That's what I have had to do, tbh- throw myself in the deep end so to speak. I'm not sure which method is best really but I think I would have benefited from help like this

My mind is literally 70% tumblr, 29% assignments and 1% tea.

(And oh yeah, forgot the whole gay thing )

Yeah, I would imagine that you'd need a lot of patience/sympathy for it. Most people would probably be like 'it's a bloody shop, if you're not comfortable do it online' kind of attitude which is a shame, but like you say most of the time life is hard.

You get unsympathetic people in all walks of life though, and whilst some people do benefit from a kick up the arse and 'tough love', others need sympathy and a shoulder to cry on.

I should clarify, I'm a heterosexual female- but gay guys are hot

The tumblr thing is accurate for me too tbh. I don't like tea though :P

At first glance I thought that said Lea

My mind is 90% work and 10% non of your business things.

Life is hard but you just have to get on with it but I do know not many share my attitude with that! I don't ever mean to be unsympathetic it is just part of my personality and I can't help it

I don't agree do it online is right tho cos you are just avoiding and not fixing the issue and then the next step is avoiding the delivery men.

How rude of him I like being a girl but I'd rather be a guy with a boyfriend than a girl with a boyfriend (that's the tumblr generation for you) But I am neither because I ain't got any boyfriend
