Hi Zeus,

Not convinced Grunt's back and that's never a good sign
I don't really care if Grant's back now, the time for him to have an impact was peggy's final week, and there was nothing.

This thread might soon not be a million miles away from how the Hollyoaks Daily threads turned out last Autumn in particular!

Literally. I'm trying to be good with food at the moment, managed to stay off other junk food bar the ice cream which is okay.

Do it!

Do you remember the Christmas and New Year ones? They went on forever!

I miss those days

Me too. Actually, I'm generally very healthy with what I eat, this just been this weekend that's been an anomaly ... honest!

(I got the ice cream)

Yes I remember those. I have even bookmarked the New Year's Eve one, which in advance I called Leema's New Year Megabash!

I've been slowly progressing onto salad (even though they used to make me feel ill) so that's a step forward for me. Thing is, I need to lose a few stone in weight (at least) so I'm hoping this will help. It should, since they say eating healthily and exercising is the best way. You're allowed to have a binge day/night/weekend though

Yay! Which one is it?

I can't believe though how pretty much after New Year the threads seemed to fizzle out. They went from being 10 pages to 3, if that. They've improved slightly now, but it's such a shame.

Binge weekend might turn into binge lifestyle if I'm not careful.

Good news on taking the healthy approach. It's a cliche but eating well and exercising does make you feel better, even though it might not feel like it to start with.

It's pretty standard ice cream - Carte D'or vanilla...but I mixed in some chocolate covered raisins because I'm crazy like that ...

Thanks. I've noticed that a lot when eating salad and stuff, you don't feel so bloated and like you need a crane to move.

That's a lovely ice cream, even if i';s just a standard one! Why not really? That actually sounds nice

I eat what i want, I do try and get the right mix between Junk food and healthy food.
I do a lot of sport though, mainly long distance running and Gym work, so i don't mind to have a binge of unhealthy eating.

I think a "spiral of decline" kicked in where people were talking down Hollyoaks to the point that they and even other people would no longer watch it, thereby having less reason to come to the threads.

I accept that Hollyoaks is watchable trash with a heartthrob, and as for different reasons Emmerdale and Corrie temporarily are in the doldrums, Hollyoaks is currently the only soap I am watching.

Some forum members (or now former FMs) may be internet savvy and found other forums to partake in now.

Talk about rubbing it in our faces Zeus!

Kudos to anyone who enjoys running though. I find it excruciating.

I cycle, gym and do yoga as well as more sporadic walking, ice skating and squash.

I think some of the more frequent posters felt like they were being driven away because of those who never frequented onto the thread much saying they felt left out. cfc86 said she felt like that as did Daffy to an extent, and I think the other posters (like DJ Jimmy and Marianne) don't post often because nobody really responds to them. I agree though, Hollyoaks did get to a point where it didn't seem much point in even commenting on the threads anymore. I also agree that it is the only soap I watch all of the time, if I miss an ep of Corrie I normally don't bother catching up, same with EastEnders (even though I do mostly watch that as it airs). Talking of other forums, Marianne said she was in the politics section of DS so had very little time for the soap forum.

I wrote the message at 8:56 so I was ready for nine, but my computer froze so I was stuck on the same scene of the Bad Education movie for ten minutes
Good old computers trying to mess up people's plans.

Kylie's funeral tomorrow. Everyone ready to get emotional again? How will poor David cope?
Just hope the vicar doesn't run off and hide in his office again.

One of my best friends is doing an ironman in October ... I'd have a good bash at the swim and the cycle, but the run ... no thanks.

Squash is enjoyable but hard on your knees. I haven't actually been for months but it's on my list for this week to get back to it. Now I've admitted that to the world of DS, I'll have to keep my promise

Now you mention it, there was someone who was making us out to be cliquey, what with our nicknames and replying to familiar people's posts etc. Marianne partakes in some of the kind of banter we know and love on one of the Emmerdale threads. She also started some politics threads mainly on Brexit. As you might imagine, I abstained from comment there, but she was amused when I reported my apparent crush (according to another FM there) on
Spoiler
