Saves Grad from cruising Tescos car park on a Friday night
Didn't I tell you I was more discreet than that already?

It's Pet Shop Boys!

There is no 'the' and never has been!
Woah, woah, woah! Would you rather I had said "In the words of Pet Shop Boys"? For the love of Rowling, I didn't even capitalise the "the". Sheesh!

It wouldn't have made sense if you hadn't of put the 'the' in the sentence,
I read it as the Pet shop boys and not The Pet Shop Boys

But either way who cares

Evening KK, I miss when you're not around on the soap forum

What did you think of Belinda's exit yesterday?

Well Gleek hardly capitalised the 't' did she?

How did I know THIS was coming!? I'm never going to live that comment down
Only because it's true

I wish. He puts up more of a fight than Atti
Runs in the faaaaamily

Didn't I tell you I was more discreet than that already?
Oh yes, Grindr.

Woah, woah, woah! Would you rather I had said "In the words of Pet Shop Boys"? For the love of Rowling, I didn't even capitalise the "the". Sheesh!
Not that it really matters anyway, but it wouldn't have made sense otherwise

Now that does surprise me. I though Atti was easy after a wkd or two
More like ten when you're in Grad's company complete with stimulating conversation

There's really no need for the woahs and sheesh, i was only saying!

Well yes, in the words of Pet Shop Boys and Dusty Springfield would have done fine seeing as the duo are called Pet Shop Boys and not 'the' Pet Shop Boys, capitalised or otherwise!

Why would it not have made sense?

'In the words of Pet Shop Boys and Dusty Springfield' sounds perfectly ok to me.

I don't see any real need for a 'the' as people who've heard of PSB will know who a person is referring to.

I mean, if a person is referring to Depeche Mode or One Direction they would surely say Depeche Mode and One Direction without the 'the' wouldn't they?

I know I'm being pedantic but I'm not meaning it in a nasty way I'm just saying.

Capitalised or otherwise the 'the' was unnecessary as the duo are called Pet Shop Boys not the (or The) Pet Shop Boys so it would have made perfect sense as people who've heard of the duo know who's being referred to.

But I do apologise if I've upset anyone I was just pointing it out that's all.

I can sense I've made myself unwelcome here so I'll leave you all in peace.

Belinda's exit?! She left?!

Didn't see EE last night though I wish I did now. Why did she leave?

I watched Hollyoaks then the last 15 minutes of Emmerdale. I had intended to have a full night of soaps but then realised that they'd been moved because of the football ...

The thing is, it did come off in a nasty way to me, hence why I reacted the way I did. I used 'the' because there are more than one of them, 'boys' plural. You may wonder why I am continuing to argue this with you even though I know it doesn't matter, and the reason is that I can be just as pedantic as you are.

Because saying in the words of pet shop boys refers to boys who work in pet shops rather than the group called pet shop boys.

Every time you post in here lately it is to caus an argument. I am sorry your thread isn't popular but you don't have to spoil ours. It was clear what gleeky meant and to make a post as you did was petty/childish

Well it wouldn't have made much sense to me, you knew what Gleek meant and it's not like she capitalised 'the' and therefore was using it as part of a sentence, not the name the duo. I knew who they were but did I get into a hissy fit over it? No.

Like Lea says I think you're being childish and it's unnecessary. I noticed you posted in your chill thread the other day as well and was still having a little dig.

Because saying in the words of pet shop boys refers to boys who work in pet shops rather than the group called pet shop boys.

Good post. It's obvious that it was picked up on to cause an argument.

Well I'm not meaning to cause arguments and spoil your thread or be petty and I'm very sorry if I've come across that way.

I can see what you mean but surely if a person was referring to male pet shop employees then they wouldn't use capital letters, they would say 'the pet shop boys' and not the/The Pet Shop Boys?

Just saying!

I too am sorry my thread isn't popular but that's because it's in this forum and not many people come here.
