Did you see that John Sim and Phillip Glennister are happy to do a new Life on Mars, wouldn't that be amazing.

We don't say cancelled Callum, we say on a break. To be fair the producer and cast want it back but can't do it until 2018.
I really hope it happens, and that they get the rights to use characters and story elements from 'The Silence of the Lambs'.

Are you going to watch Bryan Fuller's new show 'American Gods'?

There would be a window between the end of Life on Mars 2 and when Sam Tyler finally goes into 'The Pub' a few years later

Aye Zeus, the Sopranos has me in fits as well. To be be fair it's funnier than the Big Bang Theory. :P

I will be there with bells on for American Gods, the trailer looks just outstanding, still can't believe Calvin from HOs is the main star though.

I would like for them to do a 90's one, but know the truth is out about the world they live in, the mystery is gone.

Tony Soprano is the only guy i have been disgusted by one minute and laughed at the next. He was played by a great actor.
I take it your not a fan of Sheldon and the gang?😂

I don't mind TBBT, especially Sheldon, it's just not one of my favourites, I do love the Soprano's so hard though.

Tony was the first of the love to hate villains I really came across.

The first villain i loved to hate was Jr on Dallas , but for non-soaps it was Tony.
I always understood why he was the way he was, and that he did want to be a good person, but the life he was born into stopped him.

So ndd has just posted on a thread ...

Have you been telling porkies soap-lea?

Pokes head nervously round thread door frame!!

Guys it honestly wasn't me who started the rumour about leaving DS just so that you would all say nice things about me!!

First I knew was when I started getting PM's!!

Thanks though!!

I think Soap-Lea's been having a joke with you!!

As for the answer to your question

Drum rolll

A marathon session with Mrs Fanshawe would definitely be preferrable to Martin Fowler!

A marathon session with Maria would be more preferrable than just about anything on
earth, if only my surname began with F!!!
Though the energy required would probably kill me but what a way to go!!

After all that though sorry to be boring, I meant Main Forum!!

Edit!! DS seems to have gone a bit mental on me trying to post this right!!
I am sorry I couldn't help it, you were all discussing MF like it was so important and I thought you would all realise I was joking.

Just so you all know I haven't laughed so much in ages and I didn't think you would believe me

I didn't believe you, which is why I didn't comment - I knew NDD wouldn't leave without announcing his engagement to Maria Connor

Zeus, can I make a request that part 2 is just called "Through The Night (Part 2)" as It's less wordy and sounds better imo And remember capital letters for the first letter of each word for me & Danny!
Ooh please.

Policing was rather 'different' in the 90s

I loved Life on Mars, but im not sure another one would work in the same way now that we know the truth about what the past life is.

I agree it just won't work without the mystery.
I do love how Gene Hunt is basically an angel, which help's them come to terms with there death, so they can pass over.
No one has mentioned Ashes to Ashes yet, which I think is better than Life on Mars by far.

Interestingly I just couldn't get into Ashes to Ashes at all though I loved Life on Mars and still rewatch it periodically.

I don't know what it was about Ashes to Ashes. I think what annoyed me the most was that it felt very 'late 80s' in its aesthetic when it was supposed to be set in 1981.

I can see your point
I have a question about that time period of Life on mars and Ashes to Ashes.
My first question is, did the police really act as violent as Gene Hunt, who i know is a good guy, but was a bit of a nutter.

My seconf question is did the police really have guns like they did back then? Like how Gene Hunt always had a gun, and even Sam and Alex.

I watched both and while I did enjoy Ashes to Ashes, I always preferred Life on Mars. Maybe its because I liked Sam better than Alex. I havent seen it in a while actually and having this discussion here is making me want to watch it again.
