TBH the Hollyoaks ones are really welcoming and funny, providing the right people are on the forum.

I watch Casualty just for Cal alone really.

I don't ever see any soap ever doing something like that nowdays, It was not graphic but the Image of the Toddler just there dead next to its dead mom was too much for me.

I may give it ago then.

BIB - I think we were separated at birth, we seem to agree on everything

I've just found out that Amanda Mealing (Connie from Casualty) is 48! I thought she was late 30's at most

My favourite Brookside moment was the Millenium (sic) Club bombing. It was so campy and OTT.

I am I right In thinking that Brookside is the only soap to have done a child death? (UK soap)

I have not seen that one, is it on youtube?
I saw a bit of the Helicopter crash, which in terms of the actual stunt out did ED.

Didn't Emmerdale do one really early on? I'm pretty sure too children died in a car crash with their mother?

Danny I felt like you at the beginning and embarrassingly accused the place of being clique but it's really not, yes people get to know people and have conversations, but I have only been on for just over a year and pretty much feel part of the furniture because I learned just to chip in and the best place to do it is the episode threads. I still don't feel well enough versed in ED to go t'daily's yet as there are so many people who have watched constantly and I had a ten year break, but I will get round to contributing eventually. You should try them out and if you don't get anywhere try again. The EE threads are a bit slower in general than the ED ones so try starting there.

It was on YouTube until a few weeks ago but I fear it's been removed. There have been a lot of mass clearances of soap episodes on YouTube recently, especially Coronation Street and Brookside.

All the soaps have done babys dying, but I don't think any have done like a child aged 2+ dying in such a way, brookside did.
I think they killed a few kids off on that show too.

Just looked it up...

1976 – Matt Skilbeck's twin children (Sam and Sally) and his aunt, Beattie Dowton, were killed at a level crossing when their car was struck by a train.

I know one of my fav channels for ED has been removed.
I was not happy especially as i had downloaded an app of the internet which allows me to download youtube video's to my phone.

Was this on-screen?

Yep, I thought after posting that I should have put excluding infant deaths.

Wow, thanks for that.

I'll try the EE and HO ones out, as those are the soaps I watch consistently

Really, really shocking. Especially with how graphic it was - we actually saw Danny's tiny body lying there after being pushed from the scaffolding.

Matthew and Emily Farnham's deaths were equally shocking, if not more.

Were we talking about this a few weeks ago? I had this exact conversation on another thread but I can't remember who with (sorry)

Corrie killed off David, kens brother and his young son Darren in corrie. But this was off-screen in a car crash.
so this does not count.

Millenium Club bombing still available here!

I'll never forget the strategically placed concrete covering Susannah and Greg's modesty

I'm not sure. I'm not 40 years old so I wasn't born when it aired, and I've not watched any ED clips before the plane crash, apart from the first scene of the first episode... (from what I'm aware!). There's nothing on YouTube from what I can see, so I'd ask one of the older members?

Do give it a try

We must have been, we literally never disagree!

No way! I thought she was late 30's too but she can't be 48!

That was good, at the height of 'Lindsey Corkhill the Lesbian Gangster' era

My favourite is the helicopter crash. Interestingly, they used a real helicopter for the stunt, and it was on a crane which was in the playground of Grange Hill school (now it's Hollyoaks High) so they could only do one take. It was a very good stunt though that could have put Brookside back on the map but hardly anyone saw it.

I'm not sure either being a 90's kid. But knowing ED they would not have had a big enough budget to do sucha thing. I imagine, would be shocked if it turned out to be on-screen.
