Have just watched my recording of Eastenders and I really enjoyed it tonight.
I think Lee may be behind that shock ending. |

It doesn't count if you break it before New Year, hence the name "New Year Resolution"?

It is a shame it is not appreciated more, even though EastEnders is the top twitter #. I agree, if it would have been aired during the last era I would've been like 'Kill them all!' whereas now it really was edge of seat drama.
Aw, you love me really. ![]() Even Shirley was likeable tonight. It feels more "real" to me right now. I don't enjoy EE so much when basically every character is constantly in 'bitch mode'. I do. It's a blessing and a curse ![]()

It's a blessing and a curse ![]() ![]() ![]() I don't either, but it's a huge change in tone and pace after YEARS of sensationalism, DTC did a good job, as did Santer but SOC has really worked his magic, and it is finally (hopefully) beginning to show. Christmas and New Year look great, spoilers are very vague but sound good. Shirley was great tonight, sparring with 'Brenda' and then when Carmel called her something and she replied with 'I'm beginning to warm to you' was great. The huge twist at the end just topped off an already decent episode. Lots of people never liked EE because the characters always scream and shout at each other, yet that has been rectified now and the characters are like actual human beings, with humour and flaws and lots of layers to them. I really like how there's nice touches of humour that aren't forced, like Linda going upstairs to rescue Ollie from Johnny and Kathy doing her best Catherine Tate Nan impression. The feeling is mutual, even though it's more of a curse.
