Yeah, Carmel said, "What does 'Shirley' mean, then? 'Bitter old slapper!"'
I can't even remember the last time a soap used a word like 'slapper'. It was hilarious!
Totally agree. All these little improvements show how awful the show's "humour" had got. Even previously detestable characters like Donna and Kim are tolerable now.
People are never happy. Literally, sometimes the soaps' producers can't do anything right. As we were saying earlier, I like the jokey, banter scenes we're getting now with slightly more adult humour. I even think Shaks, Bex and Lou are doing a decent job as believable teenagers. Certainly more so than the Pouty Princesses, Lauren and Lucy, did.
I'm glad the spoilers are being kept vague, tbh. I actually enjoy being surprised and not knowing every little thing that's going to happen.
You're so mean!
And everyone calls me the bastard of the thread
”
Well everyone else remembers it so
That was the line! I expected Shirley to nut her in return

but it was great seeing her laugh about it. I agree, they seem to be more daring with the scripts which is good too, not keeping it fake so the snowflakes do not get offended. Donna is great, and Kathy has her spark back, something which lacked under DTC unfortunately.
Well, some FM's slated DTC and wanted rid of him, then praising SOC as the new messiah and now his work hasn't turned out exactly how they wanted it to, they want SOC sacked and DTC back, even though DTC did some terrible damage to the shows history, despite having some excellent ideas. I really like the current teenager set up, Bex is great and has a lovely relationship with Martin and Stacey, Louise is good too and has played a huge role in Phil's story. She also has a great stepmum relationship with Sharon too and tonight's scene with the two of them was nice.
The spoilers are indeed very vague. Even on the BBC Christmas trailer, EastEnders has two bits in it, one with Mick telling Johnny it's Christmas and another between Phil/Dot. That is it, there is hardly any hint of what is coming up which is refreshingly good, no high expectations set only to be disappointed.
That's because you are the basteward of the thread
