There was so many good characters in WR, both teachers and pupils. I do think the show was never the same after Tom and Grantly were killed off though, two such excellent characters.

I loved Stella too! Some people hate it but for me late 2012 early 2013 Corrie was great, you had the massive Karl/Sunita/Stella/Jason storyline and then the Rovers fire, and also Kirsty's abuse of Tyrone. Much better than what they have now.
I agree, early 2013 was a good time for Corrie, Kirsty/Tyrone was a powerful storyline, and very well acted by both.

This. It was so unnecessary to kill them off, why couldn't they just be like a normal school and have teachers leave!

I liked series 3 of Waterloo Road, I think the Brett/Mika/Donte/Chlo set up was interesting. Sam's cancer was very well done too in Series 7?

Yes I agree with this. With the Tyrone and Kirsty storyline I seem to remember Tina was quite good as well.

Yeah, Michelle Kegan's a great actress, did you see her in Ordinary Lies last year? she was brilliant in that too.

Not dramatic enough I suppose. Then again teacher's do have a tendency to die occasionally. My chemistry teacher died when I was at school so it does happen (even if not as occasionally as WR did it! )

Oh god I cried so much when Sam died, it was harrowing, and she was so likeable too. I did like her final episode where she went to Blackpool(?) with Finn and Lauren though.

I liked Ordinary Lies, I think the one with Michelle Keegan and the drug smuggling was good

Speaking of Ches does anyone recall how he used to be friends with Gary?
Was that when people on here were speculating they'd turn out to be long lost brothers?

I actually remember crying at the episode where she passed away in Rose and Tom's eyes. I think the thing that made it all the more sad was that shot of Denzil and Prince outside of her bedroom, with Denzil crying but Prince looking tired but not upset (obviously he was too young to actually know what was happening).

I disliked Denzil's death, I think it was a waste, and considering his family had already left the show, I didn't think it had much of an impact - I believe the only person who was really badly impacted by the crash was Tariq (who I loved!). I feel Denzil could have been a great character, and if they wanted to kill him off, they should of done it in the middle of a series, when they could show a decent aftermath, rather than just a flashback from Tariq and then a memorial for him - it would have been more effective IMO had we been able to see the death/immediate aftermath. Does anyone else have any opinions on this?

I liked Rachel, Finn Sharkey was good and The Kelly Clan. I liked Kyle Stack too
I was not really into the show, but i did love the feud between Finn Sharkey and Kyle Stack.

She was brilliant, but i don't think she is a patch on some of the other soap stars, who have made it big past leaving there shows.

Slightly off-topic but I know there was a thread a couple of weeks/months(?) back saying about a new BBC1 trailer with Matt Di Angelo and Michelle Keegan in, promoting Our Girl Series 2 and Ordinary Lies Series 2. I've looked but can't find it, does anyone have a link? I can't find the thread, either!

I enjoyed that, Sally Lindsay was great in it as well.

Yeah, Jo Joyner was brilliant too, particularly in the last episode when her missing husband was found.

I'm pretty sure I know what the trailer was called (I'm pretty sure it was "BBC 1 One To Watch This Summer"), but I've checked YouTube (the BBC's YouTube as well!) and typed it into Google, but no results. I've not seen it on the actual BBC channel either.

I'm in exactly the same position, I missed on TV and can't find It on google or YT. I keep getting up the 2012 Olympics one when I type it in!

I loved how it all seemed to fit together really with Tommy's debt also driving Tina towards the surrogacy but also making Kirsty angry.

Chesney and Katy's break-up also really affected me, it was so well acted by both of them and I felt so sorry for them, the way Katy felt boxed in because she had a baby so young, I've been looking at clips on youtube and it's heartbreaking!
