Most of the people on Twitter and the polls must have been Irish since he was streaks ahead of anyone else.

Also the courtroom task did him in. I am honestly still in shock.

Tellymix did reveal that 54% of the votes cast for a Hughie win on their poll were Irish who did not have a vote .Ryan did Hughie in , made worse when he returned for the courtroom task.

TellyMix ‏@tellymix
54% of votes for Hughie in our poll are from Ireland. Worth considering as they can't vote in the official phone vote #BBUK

Yes but for most days this week he was more than double ahead. Even if you cut his votes in half on Twitter and Tellymix he would still have been alead although probably very tight.

Andy's votes went to Jason after he went out in 4th. They were eating into each others totals. Jason voters more likely to power dial especially after hearing it was close between them.

The bitter ex housemates won it for him with their malice

For sure this was part of it.

Charlie calling Jason a "c*nt" probably made a big difference.

Like always, the public vote for the person they relate to best.

Definitely this. If Jackson had been evicted ahead of Andy, the Andy and Jason votes would have been split allowing for a Hughie win. But hey---it is what it is. Jason is also a worthy winner. It was a great series--best yet I think.

It's been said many time before. The polls are not an indication of who will actually vote. I don't believe them much now. Marc O'neill was booted out in 5th place when the polls had him way ahead. Ash Harrison ( acc to the polls ) was a foregone conclusion to be evicted, he wasn't. Luke Anderson was also odds on to go acc to the polls, he didn't. Jedward looked like they were winners ( acc to the polls ) They Were 3rd, I think. There's been a good few who lead in the polls but don't necessarily win.

If the government election pollsters can't get it right then we can't expect the BB pollsters to get it right.

I wanted Andy to win but after him I was delighted Jason took it. I really liked Hughie but I think think the task the other day was set up to make Jason look bad but had the opposite effect and Lateysha and Ryan weren't as well liked as anticipated.

This is very true

Let's not underestimate the amount of support for Hughie. From what Emma said, the margin between Hughie and Jason was incredibly close, and once that was announced, it would have been a clue for Jason fans (or Hughie dislikers) to get in and vote for Jason.

It would have been surprising if Hughie came, say fourth or fifth, but placing a very close second just shows how much support there was for him.

Yes positivity and good point. It just seems hard to imagine after all the hype that Jason would get more votes

Twitter is actively blaming Charlie for Hughie losing and his fans are pissed. It's great reading.

On the Tellymix Poll you can only vote once. In real life you can vote as many times as you like so clearly, voters voted more for Jason than for anyone else. Plus, once Andy was out, some people voted for Jason instead. Jason got more telephone votes than any of the others and I am delighted.

All summed upped precisely in a couple of lines, thank you jeanjo. I am delighted too

That's an interesting theory, and even plausible. But what's supposed to show that it's true?

What does "relate to" even mean when it's about someone we just see on tv?

^^ This

was interesting just After Andy was evicted it was announced the voting was really close, then soon after they said the lead had changed. It had to be the Andy factor.

I'm a Andy supporter, but also supported Jason. My main votes went to Andy, but when he was evicted & was announced the voting was close, I'd threw a few votes in Jason's direction

Re: Polls
It's easy to vote more than once on online polls. I have a PC, Tablet & Cell Phone so that's 3 votes there. Clear cache on my PC, rinse and repeat. I wouldn't be surprised if the die hard Hughie fans did just that to inflate his popularity.

The ones we think may actually be quite normal and decent on the outside. Voting's always been divided by those who've caused drama and been addictive viewing and those we actually like and could imagine sharing a pint with. (or wine ) In Jason's case I think a hell of a lot of people just wanted to give him a bloody great hug (and offer him a bunker to hide in!)

Yes that's what I did, voted for Andy initially, then voted for Jason (the added effect of not letting Ryan gloat also helped)!

And this time they related to a down to earth normal good guy. If he had a game plan he certainly did not know how to play it. He looked completely out of his depth ever since Charlie went into the house and right up until Monday night. I think he won just because he does seem to be a really genuinely nice guy. I wonder what on earth possessed him to go into the house. But I am glad he did and that he came out a winner.
