While I am chuffed Jason won ( although I would have been happy with any of them winning except Jackson) I must say that Hughie came across extremely graciously last night. Not an ounce of 'sour grapes' like some of the earlier evictees. A great interview, where he came across brilliantly. He congratulated Jason numerous times, despite having one or two differences with him. He seems like a lovely young man.

Yes Hughie came across very well - however its worth remembering that we dont know how he would have acted if he had won . We do know that Ryan and Lateysha etc would have been going beserk chavving it up and getting in everyones face all night.

I absolutely agree. I rather stopped liking him after he left the 'other' house and never went back on that, but last night I found him charming and humble in his interview with Emma, also more relaxed and natural than I felt I'd seen him for a long time. It was very pleasant to see.

I agree - and said the same last night - that he was extremely gracious in defeat, with very kind and honest words to say about his fellow finalists.

He came over very well and my only wish for him would be that he stay away from Ryan!

Yep. All of this.

Plus, hasn't he got the prettiest eyes?

Not his biggest fan, but he conducted himself well last night. A gracious 2nd place from the bookies favourite.

Hopefully he'll temper that as he gets older. (See what I did there )

Hughie wears his heart on his sleeve. That's not always a bad thing. I think we saw the real Hughie last night.

I think it's telling how many of the HMs said they wanted him to win. Plus the ones he fell out with - Alex, Jason and Andy, all seemed to like him so maybe they recognised his good qualities and they tried to give him fatherly advice, which I think showed they cared.. And maybe they saw more of him than we did. Not that I'm suggesting for one minute that BB manipulated the viewers...

Natalie doesn't count. She seems to hate everyone.

Those of us who saw a nice guy beneath the volcano weren't surprised.

I have to say I was really impressed with how gracious Hughie was. The rest of the muppets could learn a lot from Hughie. Well done to him and Jason - a very deserving last two.

Absolutely spot on

If he cuts that out he'll be a great guy I reckon.

I too was very impressed with his interview and how gracious he was. I really hope that he gets rid of the leech Ryan because he will do so much better without him.I am so happy that Jason won but would not have minded if he had lost to Hughie,

Yes. Thought the same. It was refreshing Given the usual sour grapes from most of the others.

I must admit, I never understood the Hughie love. I've never really championed people who have an out of control temper. I really dislike 'shouters'.

However, he went up in my estimation last night. I went from disliking him to quite liking him.

He did come across as a really nice genuine guy.

He just needs to get some anger management.

He was extremely gracious in defeat.

Sometimes with runner ups you can tell they are gutted or disappointed, he was basking in joy at the crowds reaction and was very excitable and happy for Jason. The others def could learn from him in being gracious.

I agree I was surprised to find Hughie quite likeable in his interview with Emma and he sound much more together and sensible than I saw him in the house.

He certainly showed a degree of humility which was lacking in other embittered HMs last night, particularly Laura and Sam and although she didn't say much, the look on Lateysha's face spoke volumes!

Hughie's issue is that he aligned himself with horrible people.

Yes, definitely.

I think that was down to Natalie. She maligned him, and he was actually the first of the HMs, pre both Jason and Andy, to be bullied.

He was likely already suffering a bit of paranoia and self-doubt because of his circumstances - Irish Traveller, used to being put down by the rest of society, plus coming out and risking being put down by his own as well. So it could have been a classic case of the bullied aligning himself to the bullies.

I'm sure that wasn't all of it, and he has to take some responsibility for his own actions too, but I think it was part of it at least.

I think last night might have been the first time we actually saw the real Hughie for any length of time.

I always saw Hughie as a lovely guy and although he did a lot of shouting I never felt he was aggressive whereas Jason just needed to look at you the wrong way

I suspect Ryan and Lateysha would have been hatefully rubbing it in Jason's face all night if Hughie had won. I bet Lateysha was fuming over Jason's win, as would Charlie have been.

There was something endearing about Hughie, but he picked the wrong friends. Ryan and Lateysha ruined him. When he was with Andy, Jason, Jayne, Evelyn, Sam, Alex and Jackson, we saw a much nicer man. He was very gracious in defeat, genuinely congratulating Jason, despite the differences they'd had. However, I would put money on that changing the minute he had a drink with the bedroom bitches again.
