The housemates seemed astounded during that news task. But to me he didn't seem that great, would be fine for local TV journalist though.

I can't see him getting much more than he gave up IMO.

Yes definitely, he will probably do the best in professional way

the tie in with BB will fade and he will be taken seriously

He was fantastic during that task!

What is wrong with being a local TV. Journolist/Reporter.

Some of those you see on Sky/BBC/ITV have been doing that job for 20 years plus, doesn't seem to bother them

I thought he was a perfect generic newsreader type.

I'm surprised he went on BB rather than just going for interviews at other broadcasters, I can't imagine it'll do his career much good as it'll haunt him. Very strange choice for him imo.

Oh there's nothing wrong with it at all, I was just meaning he looks like he couldn't progress further than what he already had.

I presume he's gone for lots of interviews and not got anywhere, hense why he went on bb?

I hope it does take off - he was very good in that task!

I know he was annoyed with the BBC, but I'm sure I heard him say he didn't like the way journalists conducted themselves anymore and was fed up with it all. Or something along those lines.

No reputable news organisation will employ a Big Brother contestant to read news.

Haha, no. He'll soon be forgotten like the rest of the HMs. Maybe he could try his luck with radio.

He would be better off pursuing a beat-box career

There are some great opportunities for radio broadcasting. I'm sure he'd grab the opportunity.

Yeah, he didn't come across as a professional newsreader. As far as a task in the Big Brother house goes, he did well. He didn't seem confident enough for real news broadcasts though. Compared to newsreaders that I've seen in action, he seemed like someone that was a bit of an amateur. He was still good as far as the task went though.

Rubbish, where are these opportunities? Radio is one of the hardest industries in the world to break into and be successful.

Andy sacrificed his journalistic career to be on Big Brother.

Kate Lawler managed to do it, but then that was a different BB from a different era.

Andy sacrificed his journalistic career by leaving the BBC because of their stance on Sports Personality of the Year and Tyson Fury. I personally think he has every chance of continuing as a journalist and maybe even get some TV work as a result his exposure BB.

I mentioned that radio has great opportunities in response to a poster who talked about it derogatively as if it was second rate and the only opportunity Andy would get.

Maybe get the whole context before spouting 'rubbish'

Hughie and Jackson also came across well in their interviews I thought.

Andy also has Radio Producer on his CV, he's produced several of Vanessa Feltz Radio shows.

I think it's right for some to suspect that a reputable news organisation may not hire him because he's been a Big Brother contestant.
I'm not saying that they're right to not hire him, but I can imagine that there will be people in the industry who possess that kind of snobbery.

I think Andy could find a niche somewhere. He could make money as a blogger and as a contributor to online news sites. There may be opportunities out there for him but we tend to think of opportunities in terms of mainstream television. Things are changing and online media may be where it's at right now.

if he wants a journalism career then going on BB was not wise, in what universe will that help and not hinder him ?

he may get some work in light entertainment and perhaps a spot on that awful Nicky Campbell programme when they are covering some sort of equality issues?

I could see Andy on a programme like Mock the Week, or 8 out of 10. He's got that dry sense of humour. Whatever he does, I wish him every success.

I hope they have Andy on SOTS. He would be a good panelist.

He was probably fine anwyay career wise going in BB or not. He's clearly a talented guy.

Oh yes I remember her saying that she knew him. I can't see any problem with him getting work.

Michael Buerk is still doing fine on Radio 4 after appearing on IAC.
