the comedy circuit are even more sniffy about reality show contestants, the only reason they would have Andy on mock the week would be to mock Andy

If Andy wanted a TV career then giving up a job he already had with the BBC was a mistake

Maybe he has something else in mind

And why don't you politely correct a forum member who may have made an unwitting mistake ?

If you aren't sure of your facts you should check them before posting them as facts.

I'll post as I wish, thank you .... and should I occasionally post in error, I'll rely on pleasant forum members to correct me politely

LOL that barely scratched the surface of impolite compared to some of the ways I and others have been addressed on here. Are you not just a little miffed at being put right

I still don't understand what was 'wrong' with what I posted to be honest

Is it because I said Andy 'gave up' his job at the BBC rather than saying he was, effectively, 'sacked' from it ?

I was aware of the circumstances in which Andy's BBC career came to an end, and when I said he had given it up I was making reference to the fact that it was his own actions that lead to it

People may admire him putting personal feelings and convictions ahead of his career prospects, but there is no question that his parting ways with the BBC was something he directly precipitated

Maybe get the whole context before spouting 'rubbish' ”

Perfect sense from you again TT. Yeah, there are probably lots of opportunities out there which don't actually involve being a filming journalist. He is extremely witty as we know, so he will almost certainly write very well - doesn't necessarily have to be a presenter. Also there is the internet of course with blogs etc.

(He may also of course end up as a producer on BB)

Maybe because he knew he was reading 'news' that was designed to wind everyone up, so he was stressed about that and it made him preoccupied??

Do you really think you can judge his professional news reading skills in the bloomin' Big Brother House??

Unbelievable. Given the circumstances he was great!

Do people really think reading news on TV is all there is to Journalism? There is also alot of gay media that would do with Andy West.He is not that naive to go on BB if there was nothing in it for him.

Wasn't Lembit Nosebeak on one of these shows? He's on the radio prsenting a derious discussion show but often poking fun at himeself, it's very amusing at times. In fact he's a great presenter.
