Nice bloke, but there were more worthy winners.

He did very little.

He won because people wanted to spite the likes of Charley etc.

I felt sorry for him, but it's an entertainment, game show and if you can't handle the heat then you need to get out the kitchen.

He got a massive sympathy vote.

Pretty much yeah he got the sympathy vote . As a housemate he did very little a gave very little away that's why his winners interview was very boring and didn't even feel like a winning interview .

And then there were the viewers who voted for Jason because they liked him more that the other HMs - regardless.

He won because

He was a gentleman
He was a nice person
He wasn't a desperate wannabe
He was the only normal person in there
He won because he was liked!

I didn't feel sorry for him. I'm delighted he won.

As worthy a winner as anyone would have been.

And he did more than any other housemate this year - he turned that house and the game completely on it's head in an absolute master stroke of genius!

Well done Jason

I think he pipped Hughie at the post with the Andy fan votes - but that's fair and square.

You can tell yourself that as much as you want.

He had a sympathy vote because of the way he was treated.

His interview was just dire. His whole exit was dire. The same old wet fished face, very little emotion.

I wanted to shake him. He gave nothing!!

Why would I feel sorry for him? I liked him as a housemate, pure and simple. I feel sorry for people like Ryan, Lateysha and Charlie who seem to think you will get on in this world if you are bitter and nasty.

Your right I was for Andy...but I thought that once Andy came out his fans would vote for Jason .

Perhaps he was overwhelmed. It's a normal human emotion/behaviour. Especially as he wasn't expecting to win!

He gave the horror Lateysha's eviction! BEST BB eviction ever.

He won. Get over it.

I am pleased he won. I didn't spend money to vote but i see it as more a vote AGAINST self entitled wannabes.

Brilliant result.

Oh darling, please.

Sour grapes? Not at all.

Like I said, nice bloke. I liked him, but he had a sympathy vote to a degree.

Not to say everyone voted for him because of sympathy, but a lot of his votes would have been because of the way he was treated.

Rather than take the advice of Andy, he would just sit there with the same facial expression. Mope, mope, mope.

what's wrong with having sympathy for someone? He went through harsh treatment in that house as well as being a soft spoken, warm, kind, selfless man who was really likeable to many watching. People had sympathy for other people too, Jayne, Evelyn, Hughie etc that's normal and why a lot of people root for an underdog. i personally love it.

Jason won because Hughie lost - mainly because of his association with the little twerp Ryan.

Yea, he won because of the sympathy vote...I don't understand how people are seeing differently. Yea maybe some people voted for him for being nice, but he was clearly pushed to the win by the sympathy vote.

There are other nice people in there, there were way more entertaining people...he was a fun sponge and a whiner.

But blame Charlie, Latyesha, and Ryan mainly for him being a sympathetic figure. It's their treatment of him that made him win.

I think it's probably true that Jason won by default, but I think he earned his place in the final. He wasn't an exciting housemate but quite fascinating nonetheless.

Charlie and Ryan sealed the win - and Ryan lost Hughie votes.

In a way, it's a credit to the voting public imo. Showing bullies what we think about them.

Good luck to Jason, though I wish Hughie had won especially as Jason already had 20k.

Maybe people are seeing it differently because they are the ones that voted for him and had their own reasons for doing so which didn't have anything or all to do with 'sympathy' but wot do we know? I guess the sore losers know our minds better than we do

I'd rather someone like Jason who isn't overcome with fake emotion every 5 seconds

I'm not a sore loser.

I'd be quite happy for anyone to win really. It's the nature of the beast.

Would I have preferred a different winner? YES.

Do I think there were more deserved winners? YES

Do I think a sympathy vote was the reason Jason won? YES

I wish Jason well as I do them all.

AND because he smashed it when he kicked planned-winner Lateysha out.

That was magic, and was the moment I decided I wanted him to win

There is always something that can be attributed to the winner of BB but when it comes down to it I don't think people would spend money voting for someone to win unless they saw something worthy in them. And IMO of this years lot he was the most worthy due to his behavior and character.

Then why such a negative thread about him?
Every year we all have our preferred housemates who don't win. There's always reasons why some do or some don't. Rather than sympathy, maybe some viewers actually empathised with him.

Sympathy, empathised....

Same thing. Rather than what he's actually done, brought to the house as a housemate.

I think it's just a truthful thread about him to be honest. A lot of his votes are because people felt sorry for him and the hard times he faced.

People have openly said on this forum, "can't wait to see their faces if Jason wins" etc... Quite evidently showing that it would mean more to them to spite those than the fact they'd be happy for Jason to win.
