I voted Like a Prayer as I like pretty much every song on the album, but Ray of Light is a close second. Everything after that, not so much.

So what do people think about "Bedtime Stories"?

It's a good album but very relaxing and laid back compared to the previous album's.

Some beautiful tracks on there like "Sanctuary", Inside Of Me" and "Take A Bow".

I think i'll give it a spin now.
Bedtime Stories is very good, much better imo than it's predecessor, Erotica.

I don't agree. Erotica is a classic, really grounbreaking and innovative in its sound of dance/house music of the time.

Bedtime Stories is very pretty but a little bland for me. It's probably the Madonna album I listen to least.

I voted for Ray of Light, but it was a close call between that and LAP.

Erotica is such a good album. Does anyone know if Bye Bye Baby was an official single?
I remember them playing it on R1 on the day of the album release and I was mesmerized.

I can't understand why her fans dislike it. It's great.

one person has posted six times so obviously doesn't know what their favourite album is and others have posted more than once twice so don't know either. having a public poll not only puts people off voting but in this case shows people vote more than once

i'd say mine was like a prayer, but like a virgin and the first album are great too, and you can dance is another favourite. the stuff since ray of light has been pretty crap though

The poll doesn't let you vote more than once. I don't see anything wrong with someone posting more than once in the thread and having a discussion, especially if someone says something they don't agree with.

I think the OP didn't mean any harm when they said "for people that love Madonna", usually polls of favorite albums are done among fans of that artist, since people who don't love Madonna probably haven't bought or listened to all of her albums. It's hard to say which is your favorite if you haven't heard all of the albums.

I can see people not liking her Hard Candy or MDNA, but Music and Confessions which came after Ray of Light were highly acclaimed critical albums and I don't think anyone could see them as "pretty crap" if they've heard them.

I don't think most fans dislike it. Most fans really love it and appreciate the art of it. It may not be their favourite just because it doesn't have really big hit singles like some of her other albums.

why do the same names appear multiple times if you can only vote once

I don't see anything wrong with someone posting more than once in the thread and having a discussion, especially if someone says something they don't agree with.
it's not a problem. it's just that the OP asks "What is your favorite album?" - favorite being singular, not plural. ie. they aren't asking for what ARE your favorite ALBUMS but using the singular, yet setting up a poll that's allowed people to vote more than once, and people have voted more than once, meaning either the OP didn't understand what they were doing and/or those voting can't understand a simple question

I can see people not liking her Hard Candy or MDNA, but Music and Confessions which came after Ray of Light were highly acclaimed critical albums and I don't think anyone could see them as "pretty crap" if they've heard them.
i have them all, and when looked at in retrospect in context of all other music i've heard in decades, i see them as pretty crap. if you can't think someone could see things in that way you have a lot to learn

as for highly critically acclaimed, i'm sure saying they were highly critically panned is equally if not moreso accurate

I think the OP didn't mean any harm when they said "for people that love Madonna", usually polls of favorite albums are done among fans of that artist, since people who don't love Madonna probably haven't bought or listened to all of her albums. It's hard to say which is your favorite if you haven't heard all of the albums.
well the OP is banned so can't answer back but they aren't the only person who appears to be banned recently who posted regularly on madonna related threads. i think it's clear they were posting for a particular type of reaction, but perhaps not expecting the results they got

contrary to what you say, you can still pick your favourite album or item from something even if you haven't heard/experienced it all. i'm sure you have a few favourite things such as food and tv shows and movies, and i think it would be safe to say you've not experienced all the types of food in the world, nor all tv shows or movies

also, fan is short for fanatic, and in a nutshell that means someone who will do things that they may not otherwise do in circumstances, such as when a tour is announced they will go out their way to get tickets to each show, queue early to get front row, buy all merchandise etc. however the word is so overused these days where people will say they are a fan of a tv show like game of thrones yet the reality is all they do is watch it each week, and if something more important like a birthday party occurred on the same date they may do that first, which leads to the superfan or hardcore fan terms, which in most cases simply describe someone who is a genuine fan(atic). now there are lots of artists to which i buy all their music and attend concerts regularly and perhaps i have bigger/better collections than those who consider themselves fans, but i don't do anything fanatical. so whilst i have all the officially released music from madonna and lots more on top, i'm not fanatical about her. likewise michael jackson. yet i know the work well from both artists and can discuss it knowingly at length. i simply look at the work impartially rather than discriminately and fanatically. and there are a number of other people who fit into similar catagories. both MJ and madonna have only released a limited amount of albums in their careers, in particular MJ's solo career, and those were popular large selling commercial albums so there will be huge numbers of people who have those albums who don't consider themselves fans, but will have the albums along with those by other large selling commercial albums like george michael and prince and other similar commecial acts over the years

Regarding the poll, it's really strange that names have appeared more than once, it does indeed look like there's some cheating going on there.

I only voted once for True Blue and this poll, (like all the others I vote in across the forums)
tells me that (once I've voted) I've already voted in this poll.

It must be down to the OP, she must've added some kind of multiple choice thing or something.

Weird!

your name is only on it once so see if you can vote again. maybe you had to vote on multiple choices the first time if you can't do it

It says I've 'already voted in this poll' at the top of the page and there is no option for a second or multiple vote, as a rule polls are usually like this unless they're multiple choice and the version I'm getting is one vote only.

And one is all I need!

Erotica for me closely followed by Confessions...

IMO, every track on Erotica is single-worthy and I loved the fact that Confessions was one continuous mix. Forbidden Love (from Confessions, not the Bedtime Stories track) is a gorgeous song.

If you check the reviews of Music and Confessions, they were very positively reviewed, with the reviews overwhelmingly positive with very few negative reviews. Obviously you have your biased opinions that don't change, but critics who are objective don't share your views.

To me fan, doesn't have to mean fanatic. There are different levels of fanhood. Yes, there are some who are fanatical and take it to extremes. But to me a fan is someone who generally likes an artist, who likes more of that person's music than they dislike. I think if you own more than say one album by a given artist, you are a fan, albeit maybe a casual fan.

But as usual, you have hijacked yet another Madonna thread to be argumentative. I thnk you are far from objective when it comes to Madonna, but biased against her. What is the name for someone who is fanatically against an artist that they need to continually attack them and people who like that artist?

If you check the reviews of Music and Confessions, they were very positively reviewed, with the reviews overwhelmingly positive with very few negative reviews.
so as i said, saying they were highly critically panned is equally if not moreso accurate

Obviously you have your biased opinions that don't change, but critics who are objective don't share your views.
that's not true at all. however everyone has a different opinion so some critics may share some opinions whilst others won't. likewise you may share some opinions and not others

what i would point out is someone who is a fanatic of an artist talking about biased opinions is the pot calling the kettle black

To me fan, doesn't have to mean fanatic.
that's your personal opinion, rather than the true meaning of the term. many disputes arise from such an opinion, where someone understands something differently to the standard meaning

There are different levels of fanhood. Yes, there are some who are fanatical and take it to extremes. But to me a fan is someone who generally likes an artist, who likes more of that person's music than they dislike. I think if you own more than say one album by a given artist, you are a fan, albeit maybe a casual fan.
and that's a good example of where your opinion varies from the true meaning

if we take your example, then it would mean i was a fan because i own more than one album from madonna, as i do for many artists, regardless of if i even like the music or not. if i was given a bunch of cds from someone and it had 3 cds from boyzone, would that mean i was a boyzone fan until i got rid of those cds? you can see the flaws in what you are saying by now surely?

But as usual, you have hijacked yet another Madonna thread to be argumentative.
i've not hijacked it, and in fact you are the one who is arguing against what i've said, instead of simply accepting my opinion and what i have said. there was absolutely no reason for you to reply to my post

I thnk you are far from objective when it comes to Madonna, but biased against her.
from the perspective of a fan(atic) of an artist, i can understand why you would think that, but the fact remains i am objective rather than biased, but instead it appears you simply refuse to accept anything said about her that you don't like. which is typical behaviour of a fan(atic) of an artist

What is the name for someone who is fanatically against an artist that they need to continually attack them and people who like that artist?
tell us? do you actually know, or is this just another loaded question?

what is the name for someone who posts personal insults about people online? note i don't make personal insults towards people, but i note the comments in the madonna thread where people do make personal insults towards others on a fairly regular basis
