apologies if this has come up before but i just wanted to say what a star i think Gemma is becoming and has great potential to be one of the streets big names in times ahead - providing the writers do not ruin her.

She can make you laugh and feel for her in an instant and i see she is to be friends with Rita which should add another dynamic

I am with you all the way on the Gemma appreciate society.

They are consistent with the badly applied make up too. The cloggy cheap mascara.

I like Gemma, she even gives Chesney more personality than he has had in a while.

She's a strong character with huge potential. Exactly the type of character Corrie needs

She's the next Leanne/Tina/Becky/Kylie, but remodelling tearaway teens is something Corrie often do well.

Hated Gemma at first (possibly more because of Callum), but since they've (naturally) toned the character and given her a purpose, she's slotted in wonderfully.

Top bit - no way! She's the worst actress in the show! She's lucky they kept her on and brought her back. IMHO of course.

She just has that tang of authenticity about her - You see girls like Gemma in real life, which is always a sign that a character is well drawn.

What I like too is that they have made her good at her job. Shows her drive and determination and willingness to succeed. She can run the Kebab shop single-handed now, no bother.

I disagree about her with Ches. They cannot turn Gemma into a boring 'wife' character. Ches and Gemma would become the boring saddos that Tyrone and Fiz are.
Gemma needs to be left as the victim of a string of poor relationship choices like Rita, unfortunately (sorry, Gems!). Ches isn't a good match for her.
Maybe he could fall for her and it not work out and then ditch the Sinead who's character has gone all over the place because that's what happens to outlying characters they get lots of writers dipping in and dipping out with no consistency.
With someone like Gemma, relationships are where the weakness is. Her self esteem is so low that she will throw herself at men and let herself be walked on, time and time again. Yet be successful in her job or running a business and seem really tough and able for it on all other aspects of her life.

Is she good looking enough for super-stud Chesney?

Is any woman?

I think she will start dating Craig, before anyone says anything, he is supposed to have been born in 1998 so he must be 18 or fast approaching 18. Reading the spoilers and how he always seems to be in scenes with Gemma, it kind of makes sense.

She has grown on me, I have to admit. She was very Vicki Pollard when she was hanging around Callum's lot, I thought she was dreadful. Believable, but dreadful.

Gemma is the worst 'actress' in the show for a long time. I can't think of any reason to bring her back after her first appalling performance with the equally bad Callum and his sidekick.

I agree. Add in Maddie to that list. They often take a rough and tumble young woman and slowly soften her and she ends up becoming a charming and likable character. I was surprised to see Gemma back but I shouldn't have been..they do this all the time.
