Not relevant after 35..Youth is celebrated, even though most of them don't know their arse from their elbow..If I could meet my 19 year old self i'd just slap him and say get on with it.!!

Well I sat there on final night, surprised about placing of Andy and thinking that Jason must also have lost out ....then when it came to the last two I sat and waited to hear that Hughie had won.

I sat up, got up and - being on my own - shouted to myself - No!

Yippee! Hooray! I couldn't believe it.

Best result for years.

^^^ yep, exactly what I was thinking.

Jason was a truly worthy winner for me. I did empathise with everything he went through in the house, but I also liked him and his personality. He did have one, it's just that he's a grown up and not into behaving like prat. His best bits were full of him having fun and joining in, so he wasn't totally miserable all the time, as the producers no doubt wanted us to believe.

The last time I was this happy about a winner was when Aaron won, he and Jason had an equally hard time, but Jason made a bigger splash when he evicted Lateysha. He had the balls to make unpopular decisions and I admire him for that.

Well done Jason.

Agree wholeheartedly with these two posts.

A thoroughly decent man won and I am so pleased for him

Jason won not because of who he was, but because of who he didnt like and who didnt like him.

This is the first BB I've watched through since Helen Wood won. Andy and Jason were my 2 favourites so I was happy with the result. I don't know whether the producers intended it to work out this way when they allowed Ryan and Charlie to attack Jason in the Trial task but I think that's what won it for him. It was pretty disgusting to watch.

I literally cried tears of joy and happiness. Much as I wanted him to win (and my phone bill proves it) I really didn't think he would beat Hughie. I was over the moon when he did!

he earned it by moving more people to pick up the phone than any of the others did, anything else is just your subjective opinion (oh f*ck off Lateysha )

It was the case with the Brexit referendum too, constant interviews with younger people stating that those who were older had no right to decide the future!

We're supposed to have become more progressive over the years. But in 2016 this is by far the time that I've most recognized such an ageist attitude towards older people. I've not seen anything like it before.
Or maybe it just seems that way because of a vocal minority on social media.

I don't vote, but so happy for you jean!!! You never know, with the number of votes these days you may well have won it for him and Cleo, thank you so much for helping deliver the best and most humble winner in years

I think your over-stating the case for ageism...Jason won for a start. Lots of people liked Jayne aswell, but as a woman she would always have found it harder to win IMO. I would have preferred her just coz she was quite lively and also went on quite a journey. When coming to the main house a lot of people didn't like/didn't trust her, partly due to Natalie, but by the end most people loved her. Whereas Jason was always fairly solidly liked/respected by most in there yet went through a rough patch at the end.

I'd say Jayne went on more of a 'getting used to living with others in the Big Brother house' journey.

Jason's was more personal with him opening up (for him) and expressing his emotions, learning to live with gay men and love them as friends, the first letter from his father in his life etc...

Jason may have money tied up in his house and business(es) but if he needs money why should he lose his home or livelihood if there's another way? And he didn't expect to win anyway!

He did mumble a couple of things about the money actually. Something about being able to do 'a lot of good' with the 20k, then in his interview he mentioned something about his dad. Both kind of slipped out and I didn't know what he was talking about.

Today I've read elsewhere comments that his dad is sick in hospital and that maybe he can use the money to help him. I don't know anything beyond that, or how true it is, but it seems an odd thing for people unrelated to him to say if it isn't true, and it fits in with his interview. It makes the letter from his dad potentially all the more poignant (which would be another moment he could have absolutely milked like most of the rest of them would have, but as per usual he didn't comment on it).

A wonderful winner, and a perfect ending to what was a farce of a series!”

I 100% agree with this. I never have a favoutite but chose Jason on the last day. I don't see any point in judging them by what we watch really because BB will show us what they want us to see. I do like to get caught up in the silliness on here though.

Awww thank you but I am sure I am not the only one. Jason was the only one for me from when I started watching (missed all the other house business as I was in Minorca) and still cannot believe he won. I really thought Hughie and Jackson would have got it. I think Jason won once Andy was out (travesty! ) and then votes transferred to Jason.

When Emma said the voting has changed in the last few minutes when they were going for a break and Hughie and Jason were the last 2 left in the house I knew Jason had it.

Very true. As an older person I have seen ageism first hand. Not from everyone but quite a few and mostly younger people. I walk with a stick and have noticed it is rarely youngsters that give up their seat on buses or trains for me but older or middle aged people. Some Mums are the worse - they seem to feel their 3 or 4 year old should have a seat over people like me who have difficulty keeping their balance whilst standing - especially on a bus that lurches about.

Try walking in my shoes for a week then see if you think ageism is overstated.
