What an incredible signing that would be! I'd be enthralled!

She's not a "thing"
Expression goes with thing, and nothing wrong using it, and besides I know a lot about her in those heady days of Lurve, parties etc, and Jagger! Don't know what she saw in rubber lips anyway!

Think it was the way he moved his body on stage that got the females going. Have an LP cover with his lips covering the whole front! Grim really. However do like the Stones, and I mean the whole group had good sound then. Jagger's vocals at the time was not good at all. But don't suppose that mattered as he could do his wiggle. Latching onto that group could make your fortune! lol

BIB - Wasn't it fascinating? She's one of the few subjects I've seen who have not cried. (I admit I cried, though.)
Yes, she was fascinating. One of the most interesting eps they ever did. She was wonderful.

I loved The Stones too. Two of my mates went to see them while we were still at school. We were about 15 years old and they got to go backstage to meet them. I couldn't go but I never asked them what they got up to

Ask them now? Wasn't really a fan of the Stones at the time, but became one after I went off the Beatles. But the music news always had the Stones and Marianne in it, and the stuff they got up to. Was a keen music fan in them days Other thing is you were in the right country to see all the groups, whereas I wasn't, but read about them every week for years. Mind you I did have an event once, which surprised me, but a musician played me some music on my birthday which was something never to be repeated again. This was in Dublin where I worked, at the time, and he played me a tune on his violin or fiddle. I was a bit embarrassed and chuffed at the same time. He was one of a famous group at the time. I never asked him to, he just did it. That wouldn't happen today as performers want their purse of gold first.

I can't ask them I'm afraid, I haven't seen them for over 45 years.

Yes, we were lucky to be in good old England but I could never afford to go to gigs in those days, we were very poor.

I would have died of embarrassment if someone had sung to me. I was and still am a rather shy person.

She was great in her day. Part of me hopes she isn't going in. I imagine the drugs, lifestyle and illness would have made her frail and vulnerable. It could be Angie Bowie all over again - not a good watch and quite sad.

If Angie Bowie can go in, l don't see why Marianne Faithful would'nt. Maybe Angie inspired a whole new generation of Rock star ex's.

Last time l saw MF was in the 70's, she was worse for wear and l was working somewhere, where she needed some help, she was wearing a very loose fitting crotched top, and was bra less. very embarrassing.

PMSL at these youngsters who don't know who she is. She was a pop singers in the 50/60's who dated Mick Jagger, was into drugs and has had a very interesting life albeit not all good. She must be late 60's or even 70's by now. I remember her well cos I am of her era

I'm 28 and I do know who she is.

She did back up vocals in the Metallica track: The memory remains. She's in the music video too.

MARIANNE FAITHFULL going in tonight according to Social media!!

AMAZING signing if true
She is amazing! I read her autobiography and it was one of the most interesting I had read in a while. Some part of me thinks she is far too good for it, though.

The Mars Bar story has stayed with me for all those years, never been able to look at one without recalling it.

Thanks so much for that, Dean! It takes me back! I wanted so much to look like her (she's not that good nowadays sadly). I remember singing it as my mum was driving me back to boarding school- stopped me sobbing!
She later did a part in a Somerset Maugham short story for TV and was dreadful! Couldn't act for toffee but she was pretty!
Oh she was, very innocent looking. Isn't it funny how music is done now on tv, because she is so obviously miming but nobody cared back then. At least she was becoming famous for having talent in the first place.

She heard Bovey was in and wasn't prepared to risk another chocolate related incident. It's taken 50 years for the other one to go away...

I knew there would be an explanation.

Thank you.
