Scunthorpe have started to become on a roll, since they dispatched Gillingham with ease a couple of weeks ago it really got the ball rolling for them. Bolton still look the team to beat this season though.
Something seems to be going very right at Scunthorpe. I think Bolton appointing Phil Parkinson has effectively secured their promotion. That said, Bradford have recovered from his departure

Bolton were mainly sorted once their financial situation started to improve. Parkinson has done an amazing job in such a short space of time. Scunthorpe have come back from mediocrity last season and look a good balanced side.

Notts County, am just an interested neutral in the League One forum. I saw Notts being relegated at Gillingham last year

Not the best match for you to see. How long do you reckon until County return to League 1?

My team, AFC Wimbledon, has made a decent enough start to League One. We have been able to at least look like we can compete in this division.

Our slight Achilles heal is that we cannot defend for toffee. Conceding two goals a game has made our position a bit lower than we'd like.

Probably not this season, John Sheridan is a good manager but has inherited too much deadwood. Next season is more realistic

Surprise results with both Bolton and Northampton losing. Scunthorpe new leaders and Coventry really dont look in a good situation. Played 8 and still not one win registered yet. The only team without a win in the league, but there is still plenty of time to change.

Northampton record have to come end some point but surprise it was Chesterfield. Scunthorpe are doing well lately make you wonder if they be dark horse for automatic promotion this season.

As for Coventry they draw 0-0 to Oldham which sounds like both teams were poor knowing Oldham did hit crossbar in second half. Only good thing is that other clean sheet (5 in 8 league matches) and we only lost twice so we can turn these 0-0 into wins we may do well in coming months.

Bury having a good run........up to 3rd, just a point behind Bolton

Similar thing happened at the beginning of last season and these points now are invaluable in keeping us up as we inevitably slide down the League in a slow motion collapse

Our record over the last 20 years is that we get a promotion, cling on for one season then go back down in the second season......then get promoted again two or three years later

might stay up for more than two seasons this time.......

Bury 2nd just below Scunthorpe now

Looking pretty bad for Coventry at the bottom

I'm surprise how well Bury been doing since we played them as they look like team that probably will finishes in bottom 4 yet they started to like good bet to finishes in top half of table.

Oldham lost 2-0 to Swindon today which sound like we were poor and Swindon deserve they victory, this victory for Swindon move them out of bottom 4 and push Oldham into it and we now sit in 22nd place. way sound like we been playing we need to start scoring soon or this could be season where Oldham finally leave this division and drop to League two. (knowing I said that last season and we somehow manager to avoid drop come end of season)

I see Bolton draw for four time in five matches and also notice they haven't won game since 20th Aug, good victory for Rochdale as they beat Millwall 3-2 and move out of bottom 4 and Northampton beat Southend 4-0 to move into play offs.

That was one result - and scoreline - I was not expecting given our poor record against Oldham.

But I wouldn't fret familyguy, as we'll be talking about this fixture next season. An Oldham Athletic season in League 1 - and how it pans out - is filed alongside death and taxes as one of the certainties in life.

Decent game with two sides that are footballing sides, Charlton will be knocking on the door later this season,
First time i've heard Russell Slade talk, I like him, decent chap,
Tough one away on Tues,Sarfend will be hurting and even tougher on saturday Bolton aint had the results recently so I'm expecting an onslaught on our goal...first time for me at Bolton

But what if Swindon go up or down? Not that likely but still could happen. I look forward to the day Notts rejoin you all in League One

How much are Bolton charging Oxford fans for this weekend match? Oldham play at Bolton on 15th October and they charging £26 for us I love to go to this match but not sure if I pay £26 to watch League one match.

That quite cheap but I think Bolton do cap price where (dare I say) lesses teams have cap C prices and Oldham along with Bradford, Bury, Sheff Utd having cap A or B dearer prices.

As for tonight matches Oldham draw 1-1 against Charlton which I would take before game, it look like we were better than Saturday and if we put finishes away we may won the match knowing Charlton did hit the bar couple of minutes after we equaliser.

Other good win for Rochdale as they beat Bolton 1-0 and Bolton drop four places to seven place, Scunthorpe and Bury stay in top 2 places with Scunthorpe now four points clear of 3rd place Bradford.

If Oxford were up north I dare say the tickets would be more

Just seen your lot are bottom of the league had no idea they were in such a state. Only team in the football league without a win... is there huge unrest/animosity amongst fans towards the club these days?

There has been towards the owners for the best part of a decade. Northampton was the lowest point so far, although the current season after we were incredible up to Christmas last year could see new depths plummeted.

There's a petition for them to put us up for sale and various protests planned, but we're a club with no assets, no revenue, a stadium owned by a London rugby team and no prospects. There's not a single viable reason for a buyer to come in unless there are some stupid and filthy rich Cov fans out there who are sick of all the money in their bank account.

I went to highfield road a couple of times in the late 90s...

Knew you had the rugby team using the new arena at some stage and all sorts of issues...didn't know if they were still ongoing.
Met a couple of Cov season ticket holders at the euros.. surprisingly decent blokes!
