Any radio stations that play pre 50s music?
Hello,
I remember a radio program on BBC Wales called String of Pearls and it played all the lovely oldies such as Jeanette MacDonald & Nelson Eddy, Mario Lanza to name a few then the man who hosted it retired a few years ago now we have nothing. Lots of people who are elderly have nothing much to listen to apart from Smooth radio that is becoming more and more modern. I can not get away with modern music all I hear is ear bleeding rubbish and I know I am not the only one. Thanks |

It's not always pre-50s but Desmond Carrington does a great show on Radio 2 on Fridays between 7pm and 8pm. He plays an older style of music generally and I have heard him play songs from the 30s and 40s. He played Al Bowlly a couple of weeks ago!
You could catch some past editions of the show on iPlayer radio. |

Download the Tune In Radio app.
Got Radio Forever 50s plays a lot of early 50s. Uk 40s plays from 20s to 40s. You want it, you can find it there. |
