He turned up on question time a couple of years ago. He was exactly the same. Still over emphasising the point as if he was commanding way more attention than he actually was. Much greyer too but then it was 20 years.

Used to set the video to tape it every week in case we ended up going on to a nightclub after the pub. Would drive my old man mad watching it back on a Saturday morning specially when that Kookie woman came on.

James is the sole reason for my habitual insomnia which set its roots during his talk radio overnight stint. Awesome, unregulated radio.

I hate how you're hated these days by people such as the BB crowd for saying things that even slightly stray from what you are 'trained' to think

I used to think he was quite entertaining 25 years ago. But went off him because of his political views (Thatcher lover, BoJo supporter, UKIP'er)

Watched the launch show tonight as I heard whispers James Whale was in. Used to watch his late night show and listen when he was on Radio Aire. More recently his double act with Ash on Talk Radio.
So a bit of fan.

To be honest, apart from Sam Fox, Biggins and that Bovey person who the f*ck are the rest of them.
A load of botoxed tarts the cat dragged in ?

Do you remember when James Whale was having an affair - and his lover used to call into his show so he could drop a code-word to let her know whether it was safe to come over?

In his VT he was saying he hopes to be the first evicted but he was first to try and get nominated by Biggins in order to gain immunity !!!

Jerry Hayes was also a regular on Cross Question, a Question Time-type show that was made for Anglia TV

Superficially more intelligent, Whale has done it all, and was doing it when Andy was still in school. Whale is smarter then he looks.

Same here. He seems the most intelligent of this lot so far.

Yes, I used to love it. James Whale and George Galloway. Both often treated callers appallingly but were so entertaining.

I don't know him at all, but my hm immediately said, katie Hopkins wannabe!
I doubt he'd need to aspire to her as I'm judging his outspoken views (if he's had any to really latch onto) were cemented for some well before she appeared on.

I'm wondering if he's one of those people that seem contoversial and one to be weary of as just an initial stance, but when you get to to nub of his views, it isn't always as bad as at first seems? Because I don't know him, I'll just judge him from a clean slate obviously, but if he's a Jim Davidson type I suppose he'll be interesting regardless of whether you like him or not. He'd prob have a good chance of winning if anyhting like Jim (in terms of seeming unpopular in the mainstream sense).

I hope he stays in as long as possible and off my radio on the weekend. He just trolls the callers about their political and social views (which even if you disagree are often well articulated and argued) - mocks them and takes the piss out of them. And not just the callers, he does it to the newsreaders and travel info folks, which are usually the only bits I listen to. No place on the BBC for him - if there's a demand for him he can find a place on commercial radio.

I hope he embarrasses himself out of his present job.

james whale was the face (with the hit man & her) of itv's expansion into 24hour tv. he had the post pub / club spot that meant 101 students tried to ring in and get a swear on air...
Bless You

I like him. I remember watching his late night show as a youngster and I listen to his Saturday show sometimes, he loves winding up his callers.
