I don't know most of the americans either but at least they look like entertaining characters. A lot of brit housemates are often boring and non entities.

it wouldn't be a problem if they weren't all the worst examples of the breed.

this show really goes out if its way to ensure that the only Yanks that show are.... yankers. Metaphorically at least.

Why would you have? You do realize that most Americans who might become even mildly well-known in Britain wouldn't be doing a show like this.

And how would this differ from the British housemates, who are equally "worst examples of the breed"?

Yet again, how does this differ from the British housemates?

Look, they're all pretty awful. That's why they go on shows like this. But I just don't get why so many seem to claim "The Americans" are something that "The British" are just as guilty of.

it always interests me that they basically have a limited number of ways to go with casting Americans,

1.) reality stars -- usually ones who are the "stirrers" on their shows.

2.) former child stars -- usually involves substance abuse.

3,) American musicians who had more UK charting than US charting

4.) whatever the hell Courtney Stodden was.

Yes. It's essentially because, if they had careers in America, they'd be there pursuing them. Not embarrassing themselves on a show like this, in Britain.

Id rather have American housemates that don't play up to the camera and try and act all nicey, than UK housemates who don't do anything the whole show just so they still have a job when they get out.

There only 3 Americans this year anyway right?

Well Aubrey probably wants to promote her post Danity Kane music career here in the UK, she and fellow bandmate are in a group called Dumblonde. It's a sure way to get extra fans at the very least

Americans are usually the most entertaining, who can forget Tiffany Pollard and Angie Bowie?

Too many TOWIE types if anything.

BIB: I actually quite liked her.

Yeah, the guts of US housemates seem to be reality stars now. Even those who are known for something else have also become reality stars in the US (e.g Gary Busey).

Yes, well. That's why I used the word "essentially" ... because I KNEW it didn't apply to every American housemate who's ever been on the show.

Completely forgot he did it!

Being a Tarantino fan, Michael Madsen is one of the most impressive signings CBB has ever pulled off - both C4 and C5 series. In terms of name, Evander Holyfield was another huge booking, although it didn't really pay off.
