I think the American Branch have always been a bit more known, with their links to Vegas and the so called "Rat Pack" from years gone bye. Then there have been so many films and TV shows, like The Godfather, Goodfellows and The sopranos.
The Sicilian Mafia or Costa Nostra, is more unknown and probably closer to the original organisation.

I think Mobwives is known for those who watch ITVBE, and those who watch the Real Housewives type programme. I think they are likely to be older than those who would watch Geordie Shores and Love Island. I think Mobwives have a reasonable following on Social Media.

I have heard of her father, he was pretty well-known at that time. And one of the other ladies on the show is the daughter of Gambino, another well-known mobster. She has grown up with that kind of lifestyle, so I can see why she is hardened.
I watched a few clips of BB, so far she's warned Katie and Marnie not to mess with her and they're pandering, as predicted. I think it's safe to say they are intimidated.

Most Americans still refer to themselves as being Italian, Irish, Polish, African etc. Whatever their ancestry is. They consider themselves to be Italian American or Irish American or as in the case of my daughter in law Polish American.

Most definitely. That goes for a lot of British people with 'other' backgrounds. I am British, but I am also Italian. Anglo Italian, if you will. So, yes - Renee will call herself Italian, because that is her background; whilst some are born and raised in, for example, America, or England, we will have grown up with the culture of her parents and so it cannot be discounted. It is our heritage.

I made a mistake with Karen's father. I called him Gambino, but he is Gravano. But yes, they are all hardcore. I watched a few episodes of that show and Renee is not even the scariest one. Drita is pretty hardcore, also.
