EE pay monthly subscribers are able to get BT Sport free for 6 months via the app by going to this link and following the instructions...

http://ee.co.uk/why-ee/bt-sport

It says it will only work via the app, however i've just tried with Apple TV & Chromecast and it works just perfect... not a bad offer at all!

A shame you need to be on a contract with EE to get free BT Sports on your smartphone.

Vodafone allow you to get free Sky Sports on one of the more expensive PAYG tariffs if you have a 4G handset.

Yes but Sky Sports Mobile only works on your phone, BT Sports app works on your TV too via Chromecast or Airplay.

I've tried to mirror it from my iPhone to Apple TV and it won't work. I just get a black screen telling me that mirroring isn't allowed.

Does this definitely work with chromecast? It's nice having BT sport free for six months but it's not so useful for me if I can only watch it on my phone. I was hoping I would be able to mirror it to my TV.

I'm not a BT customer and although the app is working perfectly on my iPad it will not work through my Cromecast. There is no "throw" symbol on the app display

I have Chromecast built into my Sony TV, and have a chromecast dongle in the back of my bedroom TV, i am using iOS 9.3.3 with the latest BT Sports app and it works fine on all those devices, thats as much as i know

Does the 6 month start from when you take it up - i.e. could I wait for upcoming sporting events

I believe so. I know I can opt in at any time as an existing customer, but likely won't bother as I then have to remember to cancel it, and I'd expect it to be the same for new customers.

When Vodafone gives 12, 18 or 24 months of Now TV, Spotify etc, you redeem the offer online whenever you want.

BT Mobile customers got access to BT Sport in the past, but I think the app was updated so they couldn't cast the picture to a big screen. So the ability to cast a picture with this EE offer might not last.
