James Whale used to wind up callers to his various radio shows something rotten.

Seems he is transferring it to the house.

Wonder if he'll try it with that mobster's wife. He'll have have of Sicily after him.

No surprises. James is horrible with a whole barrow full of dodgy right wing views.

I think 10 years ago JW would have kept on... in today's climate he backed down pretty quickly.

The world would be so much better and less violent without it! So i'm 100% with James on this!
Whale is actually a very caring person, not some right wing extreme loon.

That is early, but I would have predicted the first serious type of argument would have come from Saira and him (just off of their VT's and what little I know of her).

I can see Grant wanted to have meaningful conversation too at some point, but predict he'll aim to be rather diplomatic in approach, whereas Saira seems to just shoot from the hip, and seemingly so Whale too.

He was telling her he's not a racist and she was saying it didn't matter if he was because they could just avoid each other (at one point he said she was a racist and she began to get very agitated before he said he wasn't serious it's just his strange sense of humour, she wasn't happy because he'd said it on camera and people may see it and think it was true). Again she was saying it was ok if he was racist, so he repeated again I'm not a racist and also that he's not homophobic (and something else he wasn't that I don't remember) but he then added I do have a bit of a problem with religion, I think that's when the cameras cut away.

Despising religion is entirely rational.

I agree. Theres absolutely nothing wrong with being completely against religion . its in no way related to it on the same level as racism and homophobia which is completely irrational

Is that something he said Ian, or are you referring to his radio show? I recall when he was on Talk Sport a few years ago - Sunday night he would have Nick Pope in and they would talk about his time working on the UK "x-files", and callers would phone in with their questions and experiences. James came across as a "believer" and seemed genuinely into the subject.

telling people they are racist is an aspect of his sense of humour, blimey, isn't he a card?

A lot of what James says is a wind up; the HMs have got to try and see through it otherwise they're going to get themselves entangled in some drama.
