Stewart Lee once said watching C5 was like wandering around Woolworths thinking "what the **** is this shop for"?

Whereas, for example, the likes of Paul Gambaccini, Eamonn Holmes, Charlotte Church, Kim Wilde, Ray Mears, Gethin Jones, Boy George, Keith Chegwin, Carol Vorderman, Anneka Rice, Jamie Theakston, Noel Edmonds, Bonnie Langford, Denise Van Outen, Alan Titchmarsh and Ainsley Harriott are all far from being A-List stars but they are all household names.”

Many of those people in the latter list are not household names though, unlike the first group. You personally knowing who they are because they've been around a while doesn't make them a household name.

All this really comes down to is that you don't watch the other reality shows, and therefore personally don't know the celebs that come from them.

I've only heard of six of them. Haven't a clue who the others are. I'm a bit puzzled as to how Grant Bovey can be classed as a celebrity. Isn't he only known for getting together with Anthea Turner?

I guess he comes under celeb by association...

But i actually like these types on CBB every so often, those guys that are universally disliked because of whatever agenda mainstream media has decided to feed us. We can now get the chance to really judge these people based on what we see and not what we read.

I agree. People aren't really household names anymore with the advent of cable tv. Some in the household will never have heard of Kim Wilde or Jack Dee. 800 thousand people have clearly heard of Marnie. She is in the papers every day.

apparently he was famous before that, his real 'talent' lies in bankrupting companies leaving them owing millions in debt

Like it or not, GS stars like Marnie ARE household names with millennials and they're the ones this show targets.

Op, your list shows you grew up in the 80s so you're a couple of decades too old for their demographic.

Personality celebs from reality shows aren't going anywhere. In fact, you can expect more and more of them.
