Have to say I am loving the pregnancy storyline at the moment, it is actually very good, and turning out to be very funny, Steve is hilarious as he struggles to keep everyone happy. I can see some great opportunity's for comedy in the future between the three characters involved. If Michelle becomes pregnant, and l think she will, imagine Steve as he tries to cope with two expectant.mothers, looking forward to seeing how this plays out.

Glad you like it. Personally I find Steve a complete joke now, and it all feels contrived. Michelle all of a sudden wants a baby conveniently when Leanne gets pregnant by her husband, and is now acting like Leanne's best buddy. Obviously done so she can feel 'betrayed' when it all comes out in a few months time and we will have to contend to her fan club rallying round to give her ego a boost.

Each to their own though.

Michelle sounded so ridiculous in the cafe when she said, 'Well now I want a baby.'

I'm surprised the actress agreed to say the line

I think the story line might have so many coincidental meetings and near misses it could be a bit irritating.

Steve will probably be quite funny though

Especially when Michelle was ADAMANT on a vasectomy last year when she absolutely did not EVER want another child

Yes l suppose it is a bit contrived in places, for example Michelle meeting Leanne in the street just as she started to get stomach pain, and Simon blurting out about the baby, what are the chances, but l still think there is the potential for some good comic moments, guess I'm a glass half full kinda girl..

I want to like this storyline but must admit that i don't particularly care for any of the three characters involved in it. I feel like it's a "here we go again" type of storyline, but i am hoping that there might be an original twist around the corner for a change!

It's beyond contrived and daft but a lot of soap storylines are. I gave up expecting them to truly reflect real life a long time ago.
Michelle and Steve get on my wick.

I agree.

Just like that, she wants a baby, without considering anything. People put more thought into getting a dog. It was very irresponsible attitude.

Having a baby will bring them closer together apparently. Of course if they end up separating the child will suffer, but it's all about "me me" Michelle and her needs.

Yes, everything is all about Michelle and her needs! Have you ever read the children's story The Old Woman Who Lived in a Vinegar Bottle? That's Michelle Connor. Whatever she gets nothing will ever please her she'll always want more.

And she's arranged for her and Steve to go to Ireland so that they can get cosy and she can get preggers. What about Amy? It's the school holidays. Why would someone go away and not take their child? She's selfish and so me, me, me. Corrie want everyone to love her but she isn't written as a nice person.

The only thing I'm enjoying about this storyline is Liz calling out Steve for being an idiot.

They don't need this storyline for Liz to do that

True dat!

I think even Rover is starting to realise how much of an idiot he is. Steve Mcdonald is the girl who would always go into the spooky house in every horror film.

I tend to agree with you callum. It's all a bit too contrived but TBH I expect that with Corrie nowadays.

Especially when Michelle was ADAMANT on a vasectomy last year when she absolutely did not EVER want another child
Good point, didn't she even leave Steve for a while because he wouldn't? I do remember her giving him hell for it.

It's beyond contrived and daft but a lot of soap storylines are. I gave up expecting them to truly reflect real life a long time ago.
Michelle and Steve get on my wick.
I agree with all your post but particularly what I've bolded.

I'm also fed up of hearing how marvellous Michelle is, that Steve is luckier than the luckiest man alive to have her, that he doesn't deserve her?, does he know how lucky he is to have her? That she's the best thing to ever happen to him. Oh did I mention that he's lucky to have her? on and on and on *yawns*

That's a good point.
But don't forget that even Amy praised her to the hilt a few weeks ago.
Michelle simply can do no wrong *roll eyes*

TPTB go out of their way to tell us how fantastic she is which just makes me dislike her even more Shame, if they didn't do that I might like her more.

I'm not convinced with the plot. All of sudden Michelle want a baby after being so against it. And Steve comes across as idiotic. I like Leanne but I want too see her back with Peter.

Yes I was hoping that Peter would really be the father, even though we had been told earlier who the daddy was going to be.

Ok so no one likes Michelle on here, l admit she is not a very likeable character, but if the story is handled probably it could be very funny. As for having Peter and Leanne back together well it's been done already, and l would rather see Peter will someone else, maybe a new character altogether.

I would very much like Peter, Leanne & Simon back as a unit!!
I would also like for Michelle to be unable to get pregnant for some reason!!
I don't think I could stand the 'hilarious' scenes of Steve having to rush between labour wards as both women inevitably went into labour at the same time!!
Steve is another Sally, a character who has become one dimensional & irritating!!
He needs a serious s/l & his feelings of guilt as Michelle tried to cope with the news she couldn't conceive while Leanne was carrying his baby would be a far more realistic & dramatic s/l for me!!

This is the bit that irritates me the most. Michelle and Leanne barely said two words to each other before and now all of a sudden Michelle decides to mention to Leanne that her and Steve are going to try for a baby. Had she even told her new best friend since Carla left Maria this before she blurted it out to Leanne?

This new friendship is, as you say, only come about so when Michelle inevitably finds out she can feel even more betrayed by her husband and her 'best friend' Leanne.

It's painful.

When did Leanne sleep with Steve?
How are Leanne and Michelle suddenly mates?
Why is level headed Michelle suddenly obsessed with having a baby?

Stupid. I find it quite depressing that people are saying this could be funny. What's funny about cheating and lying, even if it does lead to a "hilarious" dash between labour wards?

Totally agree. It's kind of insulting - unplanned pregnancies & men acting badly aren't generally situations that are farcical capers in real life...

I really like Leanne & Steve and I think it's a shame to have gone this way with things. If anything was going to happen between them I'd have liked it to have been above board, without Michelle in the picture, and perhaps to have led to Leanne being in the Rovers. As it is, what we have is another case of cheating (zzzz...), this odd storyline where it's meant to be played for laughs - Leanne (potentially) has a baby, as she has much wanted in the past. It feels like a waste, for the characters & also for Jane's acting abilities.

It's depressing. It will get even more depressing if there's a miscarriage.

I like Leanne and funnily enough I think she and Steve would make a great couple, just don't like the manner in which they've been paired. Every female is suddenly Michelle's 'bessie', or rather queuing up to be since Carla left. And yep, don't get where this baby obsession has come from.........but that's Corrie for you.

I'm interested to see Liz's role in all of this. Will she be all 'told you so' when Michelle finds the truth? I can see Michelle kicking Steve out.......¬_____¬

All this ^^^^ plus Michelle, having only decided the day before that she wanted a baby, announcing to Liz who - sensibly - said 'it wouldn't be the end of the world if it didn't happen, that 'it would be, the way I feel right now'! This is all kinds of ridiculous - no-one is so desperate to have a baby immediately, after only 24 hours thought!
