She needs more to do, she hardly features in episodes anymore and when she does she seems to be in the background a lot. Her last proper big storyline was the stuff involving Declan & Robbie, but apart from having a baby she's not had much do do.

Wasn't her baby born with brain damage? Maybe they could explore that a bit more, or have her reunite with Jai, I think she needs something to do.

I agree, Ben96. When Megan first came into ED she was an astute businesswoman, but we hardly ever see that side of her now. I have also always hoped that her brother Declan would make a comeback at some point (if Jason Merrells was agreeable).

They've got Gaynor freaking Faye and they can't work out what to do with her. It annoys me when she just pops up out of the blue for a week or two and then disappears again.

I'm curious as to whether it's her choice to be working less as opposed to the writers not having a clue, but I fear it's the latter.

I think they might be waiting for the chance to bring Declan back but it'll be too late by then - a lot of the time I forget that Megan is even still in Emmerdale and she was one of my favourites at one point.

Megan was an independent businesswoman. The storyline of her struggling to be maternal towards the son she gave up for adoption was an interesting, different one to the usual soap fare. The whole family dynamic was great.

So of course the natural next step was to kill off the interesting son, marry Megan off to a coke addled, misogynistic Gollum, make her keep taking him back after his infidelity (despite that being completely OOC), and lumber her with another run of the mill pregnancy-and-baby story.

Because of course no woman is complete unless her womb is in use.

Tbf it wasn't that run of the mill in that she apparently gave birth to a very seriously brain-damaged baby and I have absolutely no clue why that, from what I've seen, has never been mentioned again. Did they forget, did they change their minds, what and are we all supposed to have forgotten it too?

I don't think they've forgotten nor do they want us to forget, I just think It's been put on the back burner for a while, they often drop things and pick them up again a while down the line such as Carly's baby that died. I hope they explore the story eventually though, I'd like to see her reunite with Jai.

KO was obsessed with pregnancy and babies. She's carried it over to Corrie. It's her 'can't think what to do with her' standby.

Seems like Gaynor Faye is only a part time actress. She has to be the least shown character on Emmerdale. Bob is a close contender though. He's hardly been seen at all this year. I'm worried something might be wrong with the actor. Hope I'm wrong.

I think Gaynor Faye had been wasted in ED. As claremonts has stated the Megan we see now is a pale imitation of the demanding, fearless businesswoman they introduced her as. Remember when she was a total cow to Katie and tried everything she could to split her and Declan up? That feels like a different character now. I still maintain that they should have made Declan Moses' father, which could have paved the way for a new feud with Charity.

Hardly. You make out she appears like once a month. She's just not got a big dominating story. Megan had a big year last year with the pregnancy and Eliza's health. And this year she has been trying to maintain a civil relationship with Jai. Megan is far from underused.
And the small plot line where she gave Holly a job was nice.

It's all about rotation.

For once, it's been nice to see Rhona and Moira have big storylines, as they both had a quiet 2015.

I think it's down to the producer who gets underused and who gets overused. Plus the new recruits are cheaper per ep. Long time cast like Bob are guaranteed so many eps in the year but are much more highly paid for them but I wouldn't have thought Gaynor Faye, relatively new as she is, would come cheap. She is about to get a new storyline though.. Tony Audenshaw is still running marathons etc., so he must be OK.

Honestly Megan should be axed, she has no point on the show and they rarely show her anyway. She should have left after Declan left.
