Calling all Jenna fans - your favourite Jenna episodes
Oswin Oswald

It will soon be 4 years since Jenna's first appearance on Dr Who in Asylum of the Daleks which aired on 1st September 2012. By my reckoning (I stand to be corrected if wrong ) she appeared in 37 episodes in total, this does not include Clara and the Tardis and He Said, She Said. I find it hard to choose between them because I think all are brilliant. But mine in order are: 1. The Snowmen (mainly because of the gorgeous sequence when she climbs the staircase through the clouds - the colours and imagery are stunning); 2. The Rings of Akhaten (a much maligned episode but I love the songs, and her relationship with her mother is so moving); and 3. Hell Bent (the scene in the diner is so emotional). Which episodes are other Jenna fans most fond of?

Its not so much the character I hated it was more what Moffatt wrote for the character with retarded stuff like slapping the doctor or throwing all these tardis keys because the Doctor wouldnt bring Danny back from the dead. I honestly thought Moffatt was trying to make her the most despised companion of all time and fans to hate her.

Id probably say her best episodes had to be with the 11th Doctor. I did enjoy her episode where 11th encountered her as a Dalek.

I'd have to say Dark Water and Face the Raven are probably her strongest episodes. Very emotional performances that solidified her as a valuable character of the last few years.

She was very funny in Deep Breath though and lovable in Mummy on the Orient Express. I adore the "Can I talk about the planets?" conversation she has with the Doctor.

I was never too keen on the two echoes or Series 7 Clara though.

Hell Bent and Mummy on the Orient Express are the first two that comes to mind as her performances in those episodes just stuck in my head (for good reasons).

Hmm. Well, I rated Jenna as an actress from the off as poor old Oswin and Victorian Clara, so thinking about her performances rather than the actual stories, the ones that also spring to mind are;

The Zygon Invasion/Inversion - Great performance as both Clara and 'Bonnie'. A 'doppelganger' episode is great for stretching the acting muscles in Who!

'Face The Raven' - Stands out for me as a meaty Clara episode for obvious reasons.

'Day of the Doctor' - Not overshadowed at all despite the presence of quite the cast. Particularly enjoyed her gentle interaction with Hurt's Doctor.

'Flatline' - Again, a very meaty role in this, impeccably played.

'Time of the Doctor' - The chemistry with Matt at a peak. Funny and so sad in turn.

'Deep Breath' - Again a particularly important role and from silly stuff like getting walloped by a book to confusion to anger to desperation...all pulled off with aplomb.

Plenty of other moments but'll leave it there.. I get the impression that even people who didn't take to the character are seldom critical of Jenna. Think she's a very good actress and seems like a nice, grounded person, so hope she goes on to have much success...

I'll throw 2 in here. The first is the episode she was best in and the other will be the best episode she was in.

1. Kill The Moon, that is right i said it.
2. Mummy on the Orient Express, brilliant episode.

If we are talking about best episode that she was in based on solely her, then I'd say Asylum of the Daleks. Oswin Oswald was so entertaining, and made me look forward to seeing Jenna as the companion full time.

Then though, she started playing Clara and it was all downhill from there.
