All stars strictly?

Hey guys and girls, was thinking if BBC bosses could do an all stars strictly from past contestants and for say like the BBC to have a year off booking present day celebrities in. It would be nice as that way we could have our memories refreshed on what they were like.

Problem is - what would be in it for them ?

If a previous winner went out in week one or two, they would feel they were losers.

You need a bit of cannon fodder for the first few ejectees, people who know they will go out early and are just having a bit of fun.

If you had "all stars" there would no room for the comedy turns or "surprisingly good" brigade

We'd still get comedy acts mind you, but we'd also get the better dancers too.

As someone who sat through DWTS and DOI All Stars. I would have to say no! I would say IF it did happen. I would say NO FORMER CHAMPIONS like RuPaul's Drag Race. DOI All Stars was rigged and DWTS All Stars started the decline of the show.

Anything that would potentially put Widdy, Funnity Riley and Russell Grant in the same ballroom needs to be killed with the fires of a thousand firey suns.

An 'all star' series made up of all the self-styled 'people's champions' where they all try to out-prop each other every week could be quite entertaining. By the time they reached the final the dance floor would be so filled with giant plastic animals, cannons, styrofoam icebergs and discarded flying harnesses that they'd just have to stand in the middle of it all swaying from side to side for 90 seconds before being given straight tens for 'comin aht and givin it a go'.

Great idea Paul, I'm right behind you on this one.

That's effectively what the Christmas special does though. Keep it as it is.

By 'All-Stars' I'm presuming you mean the winners of the various series being the stars, not the also rans who managed to 'hang-on' even though they were useless, but proved popular with viewers?

Even so, an All-Stars show would never be a even playing field. Those who won in series 1 - 7 would have (probably) long forgotten anything they learnt and because the standard was a lot lower then, could never compete against those who won in - say - the last 2 or 3 series, when their routines would still be fairly fresh.

I Would say yes with all the champions taking part as the competition& if there was a comedy act I would go Chris Parker and see what happens. or failing that take the pros that have been there more than 2 years, replace the newbies with fan favourites and give each pro their best celeb to date, (this could be a tad confusing for a process though so I would stick with my former idea)

Am saying a mishmash of different people from different series of all abilities Kaycee.

From the winners my All Star dream lineup would be Jill, Ramps, Alesha and Jay in a one off special.

Nice idea, but the trouble is, they're nowadays total has-beens. You can't revisit past glories (or memories, for that matter). Pity, but it's true.

Yes, I don't think an all star series would work, but I think they could do a one-off special with just the champions for the 15th anniversary or something. They could all do their most iconic dance and have plenty of rehearsal to get it to a good standard. People might be more likely to commit to a one-off and wouldn't have to worry about looking like a loser going out first week etc. They also wouldn't have to do the stupid VTs then, but could show them reminiscing about their time on the show, how it changed their lives, how hard it was to relearn it etc.

I think they would have to go all out and get their proper partners back, though. I don't want to see Jill with Kevin or Jay with Karen etc. Although having said that, I do think Kara (who is my favourite winner but I don't think she'd do it anyway) would look great dancing ballroom with Aljaz .

Quite a few of them were total has-beens the first time.

I love the idea of Kara dancing ballroom with Aljaz, if they do another Strictly Prom that would be a perfect venue

Agree about celebs dancing with their original pros though, I'd want to see Jill, Darren, Alesha, Matt, Jay, Aliona, Ramps, Karen H etc.

I think you're right, I can't really remember it but I'm sure the competition must've been fierce .

I wouldn't want a whole series of all stars. DOI last year was all stars and it was boring. But maybe a one off special where all the winners go head to head with either their original partner or a new one to decide who is the best of the winners. That might be quite good

All Stars @ Christmas is OK, not a full series.

I would like to see a Oylimpics TeamGB special , I think many couldn't commit to a full series unless retiring but we might get a special of them.

Great idea except for one thing - it seems Harry & Jay would have to fight it out to the death, gladiator-style, to win the fair maiden Aliona's dancing feet!!!
