On a K700: (this is a rough guess as i cant remember exact details)

-> Settings
-> Internet Settings
-> Select your GPRS account and press "Edit"
-> Under "Connection Mode" press "HTTP" instead of "WAP"
-> A new menu should now appear underneath the "Connection Mode" option called "Proxy [something]" press it and enter "8080"
-> Underneath the "Proxy" setting you may find you need to enter the I.P Address, which is 193.113.200.195

DONE!

Can anyone tell me if the above is still valid, particularly for o2 payandgo. As I read their website, it seems that you must have a monthly contract to access web pages, ie no access via payandgo, yet some people above not only get access via payandgo, but also manage to use the 8080 trick. Thanks.

Its the proxy server part that is important. Using it will enable you to access the internet proper on O2 payandgo but it is no longer free.
