In other news it's worth watching this week's Premier League Show on iPlayer, the most interesting one they've done so far I think, because it's from New York and includes a look behind the scenes at NBC's Premier League coverage, including, yes, an interview with The Lovely Rebecca Lowe. Delighted to see her again, though it made me a bit sad because I wish she was still on British telly. I miss her so much.
You soppy soppy git!!

And i thought it was just football you were concerned about!

Any idea who Andy Hodgson is? Didn't quite deliver the script as well as the others. Clear enough just came as a newbie to it.

Don't think he's done one with Hawthorne since Villa V Man United on the second week of last season.

This is the first time this season I've watched BT's Sunday night European output and, to my surprise, the commentators on the main game (Sampdoria v Inter) are talking through the first-half highlights during half-time. Does the European Football Show no longer include pre-match, half-time, and post-match coverage of the night's featured game?

It's just a standalone hour show before the main evening game now. Think it makes it easier for repeats, rather than trying to edit the whole show in to two hours.

Ok, thanks. A bit of a shame, I think.

This game had a world feed regular in Scott doing the BT commentary; conversely, a BT regular (Derek Rae) did the world feed.

Jamie Redknapp is getting some stick on Twitter for describing Victor Moses "as young English talent.

He's nearly 26 and has played many times for Nigeria. Stuff like this is so poor.

Yeah, I thought I recognised the voice on introduction of the game on BT Sport 2 but not sure who it was, then the caption quickly came up with Mark Scott as the commentator. And, what a coincidence, Derek Rae on the World Feed for the same game, when both do regular work for the other!

Mark Scott sounded fine, decent enough commentary, from what I heard and saw of the game.

Yes, very solid wherever I've heard him and would expect him to get more high profile opportunities as they become available.

Busy weekend for Prutton then. Co-commentating on 3 games.

Scott certainly seems to be a rising star - appearing on MOTD fairly often and in that group of commentators below the weekly regulars like Mowbray, Wilson, Bower, Mann etc.
As you say always good whenever I've heard him.

Not great by Jamie. Also while not football coverage related, his Eboue section on ALOTO earlier on this week did make me slightly uncomfortable.

Have to say MOTD2 was a treat this evening. Chapman, Gullit and Kilbane in the studio and all three of them worked really well together. Perfect balance of analysis, insight and humour. It's been said a lot but Chapman really is good at getting that balance - he manages to get the pundits to expand on points but also is brilliant at keeping a show light-hearted without it coming across as forced, irritating or cringeworthy.

I've found Gullit can be hit and miss at times on MOTD but he was fantastic tonight and seemed relaxed and the Koeman tale was fantastic.
That Halloween montage too at the end by the MOTD2 team was fantastic - genuinely had me in stitches.

The only criticism I'd make (and it's a minor one as I always enjoy his appearances) is that Kilbane could reign in the nicknames a little. Right, Chappers?

Watching Saturday's show and I really wasn't a fan of Motson's commentary on the Leicester game. Almost every chance seemed to have an 'aah' or 'ooh' and his commentary just sounded a bit messy. Always nice hearing him but these days I don't usually expect a good commentary when I do.

The former BBC Wales football commentator the late Idwal Robling was one of the loveliest people you could ever meet but he used to describe Macpherson as a "bigoted b**tard" and for Idwal to use language like that something must have been wrong!!
